Oh! And it is a boy!
Wow! YOu better take care of yourself. Is it because this is number 10? And did I get it right? 4th boy in a row? My last 4 have been boys so we are hoping for a girl! But I will be happy either way cuz I love them boys!

And Mooninlion, I'm feeling a tad bit old myself today, which is unusual for me. I only get this way when I'm physically down, though. Here I am up at almost 2 am becuz I can't sleep... achy all over! yuk!! :

Jenny ~ congratulations on your boy!!!!!! How exciting!

I know what you mean about over-doing it. On gym days, I'm pretty much shot for the rest of the night. I don't know if it's my age, or if I'm pushing myself a lot more than I used to. I do have 6 children, so obviously when I was younger I had less children that needed me. Who knows?...and who cares! I like resting.

Abigail, I had some kind of achy bug last week. It was four days of really nasty body aches but no other symptoms. I was SOOOO glad that it didn't end up being flu or anything. After that experience I've decided I'm going on lock-down when flu season really hits. Nothing but the gym for me & avoiding other public places.

Rest well!

Is it really so uncommon to be pregnant and going on 42? Hm, we are even contemplating of adding another one after this one, my hormones permitting , and given the 3.5-year-gap pattern I'd be 45 then!
Just ranting....
I think it may be to some people. I'll be 41 when this LO gets here. I don't plan on anymore but I know people in my home school group who have had children in their 40's. They all have children that are around my youngest child's age now but they did have their last child in their 40's. I think it happens more than we know. We just have to be over 40 and going through it ourselves to find people we can relate to I guess.

I do love boys! Yes, this will be the fourth boy in a row. I am a little dissapointed, as all my girls are growing up (with my youngest already wearing my cloths!). I would love to have a cute little girl running around the house again. But, a boy will fit right in.

Isaiah will only be 17 months when this one comes along. So, I figure, in about three years, they could be "twins". "Isa" and "Ike"!

Still, if we do have another, I would like a girl!

Hi all. I am 27 weeks, 28 on Thursday. I feel great, no complaints at all, except I have very few clothes that fit me anymore. I plan to break down and buy some mat. clothes from Old Navy this weekend. I just hate spending money on clothes I will wear for three months!
I need to keep up my daily yoga practice and perhaps start seeing my chiro again because I find I am waking up with a stiff back due to my belly.
As for feeling old, not really. I know so many moms my age who are still having kids, I guess it doesn't seem weird. If I was having my first at this age and was in a prenatal class with a bunch tweny-somethings, then yes, I might feel old.
I have seen my doctor twice now and plan to see her at least once more in October. If all is well with my blood test results, I will probably not go in again unless I have some concerns. I plan to UC again.
Jenny, sorry to hear about the Pre-E ordeal. Hope you can still UC.
Good luck to all those waiting on September babies. Let us know how it goes!!

Tanx Mama! Turns out it's some sort of UTI that I am trying to fight off. Any advice about what to take/do that makes it go away faster? I am drinking lots of water, taking a natural antibiotic... sort of like colloidal silver. It's helped tremendously so far. I was up and around today. Only sore in my lower back this evening.

Other than that, i am beginning to feel like my old self. Just wanting to feel those flutters soon...

And KIDZAPLENTY, I think I've decided to start looking at newborn baby boys' pics because I so don't want to be disappointed if it's not a girl. I hope that doesn't sound ugly because I know it wouldn't last long. But my youngest daughter has passed me up in shoe size and is as tall as me now! And my relationship with her is so precious at 13. She is growing into such a beautiful young lady on the inside that I can see her being such an amazing big sis! Btw, I love your kids' names! I love names with strong meanings!!

hi ladies,
just saw this thread and thought i should update on myself... i've had my baby! he arrived 9/8/09 at 12:55 am. it was a natural, unmedicated birth. i made it through 34+ hours of labor at home, and went to the hospital at 7 cm (when i had bloody show). i had a very supportive midwife and two doulas, was able to walk around through transition, and labored standing up until i felt him crowning. my complete birth story is here:

Howdy, would love to join y'all. I'm 39, will be 40, just found out! due late in May, dh will be 44... It'll be #4 for us, and my youngest will be 9 when the new lo comes. She's going to be so excited when she finds out!

For now, this is a very big secret - obviously, because it's just so new. But also because I'm not looking forward to my mother's response (when I had my last one, she said, "that's your LAST one!"), and etc...

Can anyone point me in the direction of threads on the testing for over 35ers?

Abigail ~ how's the UTI? I hope you're getting better! There are so many things you could try - cranberry of course, echinacea, propolis, and what you're already doing. Though...I had a UTI a month ago & used the natural remedies religiously but wound up with something pretty awful. I had horrible kidney pain & contractions even. I ended up needing the antibiotic and was so grateful for it. I believe I waited too long trying to avoid it. (i have issues with candida so I wanted to try to avoid it if I could). I'm definitely going to get tested again, just in case...my UTI began without symptoms at first and I do not want to ever have this happen again.

Hey mama! I am great! Thanks for asking! I hate that yours got so bad! Ugh! I know the pain I was in for 2 days and it was horrific. With mine, I took something that is not on the market yet but hopefully will be eventually. It's something my dh found (he didn't discover it) but he now owns the company. It is a natural antibiotic. We use our family as guinea pigs to try out different things it may cure! HAHA!! (it's completely safe & all natural - we have a team of scientists on board)

Anyway... I just wish it would kill candida! I am fighting that, too! Really badly!! And I don't want to pass it on to the baby!!! What do you do for it?

Btw, I have heard that Colloidal Silver is a natural antibiotic. Have you tried that for anything? Anyone else?? I know of people who swear by it but I've never heard of anyone taking it for a UTI.

SO, how is everyone doing?? Any ultrasounds, checkups lately??

40+3 today and hoping little one decides to get the show on the road tonight. as of right now, no signs. I've been home from work since Monday afternoon and feel so much better than I did. Seriously considering all the options for the next 2-3 months - don't really want to go back at 2 weeks (and shouldn't for health reasons) and don't know that I want to go back at all when they expect me to work 50-60 hour weeks o a regular basis.

Ouchy! With my second, I went back at 3 weeks. I worked at a salon and didn't want to lose my clients! But I quit when she was 10 months old because I cried every time I left her. Hope something works out for you! And, baby, hurry up!!

Wouldn't Colloidal Silver be a "heavy metal"? And wouldn't that be a bad thing to ingest while pg?

I find it quite frustrating when I WANT that baby OUT, and I do EVERYTHING (Ok, not EVERYTHING, but you know, all the non-induction "stuff" that you do to encourage them to come; jumping up and down, riding in a bumpy car, eating tons of pineapple and spicy food, etc) and the refuse!

I can just hear the little inside laughing at me!

Hope yours decides to come quickly!
