Still waiting on the house to be completely finished. I'm so so over this remodel.

These are my goals for this month:
hangers for coats inside the door
organize recycling - done
rearrange kitchen cupboards - done
hang strings for artwork
clean out playroom
set up tv in playroom
do something with my yard sale pile - listed most of it on craigslist and have some in my car to be dropped off at the thrift store.
hang laundry room shelf
hang shelves in ds1's room
clean out kids' dressers - done
wash all the bedding - done
move cupboard to pantry and organize - done
make curtains
set up new bathroom
organize storage room
install new outlet covers and switches - dh's about half done with this
install new lights in bedrooms
hang up hooks in ds2's room
take a load of junk to the dump - done
move bed

i think i have to start over with a new list for the second half of the month. i got a lot of awesome things done, but still have sooo much work to do!

put away the miscellany on the kitchen counters
sort the randomness in the library, one box/basket at a time, and put it away
make my goodwill drop
finish organizing the play room
finish putting everything away in the bedroom and getting it all set up
bring hutch into dining room and unpack china into it

i did a couple things that weren't on my original list! i got our cds, records, and dvds completely organized and it looks great. i also cleaned out a cabinet in our dining room that i have been stuffing random junk into. that felt great - a lot of that stuff went into the trash or goodwill bag.

Okay, well...I was feeling accomplished until I saw my original post. I haven't finished anything on it and we are halfway through September.

Eh...I will decide to give myself some slack. Its been a crazy busy past two weeks, and I am doing good with the daily house stuff. I will plug on through September, but I know I will get into October before everything is checked off.

Good job to all of you getting stuff done. I will be following your updates.

Updating in line below Some progress made! In addition to my listed items, I gave the laundry room a major clean up AND am giving myself bonus points for cleaning off my & hubbys desks!

I've been sick, so I haven't been doing much. I'm 38 + 4 days pregnant so we'll see how much longer I van participate. I am pretty happy with my progress, though.

Here's my list

1. Finish the nursery. Have 1 panel of wallpaper border to fix, some random "stuff" to clear out and organize all of the baby stuff.

Almost finished. Acceptable should the baby come... bit that she will sleep there anyhow.

2. Set up a changing/baby stuff station downstairs.

Finished this and also put sheets in the cradle downstairs

3. Clean my room and hook up the co-sleeper. Have older dd on a mattress in my room and will have to do some rearranging to make room for everyone. My dresser is cluttered and I have about 5 baskets of laundry to put away.

DONE!!

4. Papers, papers, papers!

I made a huge dent in this one today

5. Figure out how I want to store my craft supplies so I can re-claim the dining room table. Kid crafts need to be easier to access so we can use them more.

6. Declutter as much as humanly possible while the urge is soooooooo strong and I really don't feel the attachment to the stuff.

At 38w4days? you deserve a medal for even trying lol. I remember how hard it was to get anything done right before the births of my little guys, but I also remember that insane, irresistable nesting drive

3yo still sick here, and both he & 7yo have doc appts today.. add to that one mum awake nearly all night with sick kiddo and there will be little progress here today. Until we're ALL healthy & getting our basic sleep needs managed, I'm going to focus on just keeping up with the daily stuff. Today it's hang out laundry and dh is going to give me a hand folding Mt. washmore that has sprung up on the bed. And tonight I want to mop the rest of the tile areas... something about a clean floor makes the whole house feel tidier, ya know?

* Get the baby girl clothes out of the house.
DONE! Except for the box to go to my SIL, once my MIL visits this/next month.

* Set up DD's new room.
DONE for the most part. I need to swap closets. We need to still shift things around. The curtains and bed were put in yesterday and today, and she is sleeping there tonight. I still need to figure some things out, but it's finally "her room."

* Get my closet organized.
No progress. If I don't have the baby before then, I'll try to spend a couple hours this weekend.

* Organize the kitchen better.
I'm letting go of this one. I shouldn't be climbing on the step stool. And I'm having bad nesting/pantry stocking/freezer stocking urges. I am just going to try to not bring anything else into the kitchen. (But, oh, the great sales!)

* Watch and swap my movies.
No more progress, but the closets and kids rooms are bigger fish to fry!

Dh went to Home Depot last night, again, and got all the towels bars, shower rods, etc to finish up the bathroom. I'm hoping to have the bed moved and the bathroom done this weekend.

okay, i did my goodwill drop, but have done NOTHING in my house this week! tonight, tomorrow night & sunday morning, i'm going to kick butt.

(working around tomorrow's day trip to a state park and sunday afternoon's craft circle.)

Still need to declutter the pantry

Ordered and put away frontier. Posted and had taken freecycle items, boxes being saved were picked up by a family moving.

Made and froze stock in several containers. Picked several tomatoes, boiled de-skinned and then made a vat of sauce. Froze in several containers. I have no containers left but it takes up several inches in the freezer.

3. Make up timetable calendar for in office to keep everything we do straight
-I'm almost done this

4. Reorganize all school materials for the year
-Started... about 5% done

5. Clean out and organize cupboards in kitchen
-I'm about 75% done this

I need to keep myself accountable and finish these jobs up

We didn't get much done inside the house this weekend. I did get started on the playroom and dh moved around the extra fridge and freezer to give us more space in the laundry room, but that was it.

i got so much done this weekend! kitchen counters completely cleared, some reorganization with a cabinet in my dining room, um . . . laundry? okay, it might not sound like a lot, but the kitchen was a huge disaster and i feel so much better with that one done.

I'm joining really late, so I'm only giving myself a week's worth of decluttering/organizing/simplifying tasks. I desperately need to be held accountable. My goal is to have my apartment decluttered by the end of the year so that I can focus the month of January on baby preparations. I'm due the 29th of January.

So for this last week of September:

1) Pack away prepregnancy clothes and iron some of my maternity clothes.
2) Throw away broken shoe rack in spare room.
3) Donate collected items to local thrift store on Saturday.
4) Organize Control Journal (Household SOP)
5) Go through papers in drawer in kitchen and file those that are important.
Toss the rest.
6) Organize my card/correspondence drawer in the kitchen.
7) Toss old coupons, clip and file those that are current.

I'm puposely trying not to give myself too much, especially considering I have to catch up on basic housework, as well.

Two event derailed my efforts.

The laptop died so I am waiting for a replacement so I can install the software.

The washer died, which has really thrown my efforts off course. We are getting a new one that requires some changes in our laundry area that will ultimately improve that process.

I feel so much better now that the playroom's done! If dh finishes up the bathroom and we get nothing else done this month, I'll be thrilled.
