Oops- I had planned to actually participate, but just now checking in. My sis-in-law came over today and we totally kicked my messy house square in the 'nads. Much left to do though...

September list:

throw away all trash lying around house- in progress
get outgrown DD clothing out of closet
box up outgrown clothing for both kids- in progress
organize and inventory clothing for both kids for next year, so I know what we need
get rid of my own excess clothing- done
get rid of excess cookbooks- done
get rid of old college textbooks I will never use again
get rid of all my old college papers!
Get rid of toddler bed
get rid of extra coffee table- done
get rid of extra desk
give away extra TV
find totes and boxes to use for storing outgrown kid clothing- in progress
go through outgrown kid clothing and give away all excess- in progress
give away excess toys- done- 4 bags full
drop off my clutter at Goodwill!

oh my . . . tomorrow is the last day of september. we've come down with a cold (thank you, preschool germs!) at our house, so the many things on the to-do list will have to be carried over into october. still, i like this thread! it was actually very encouraging to go back and look at the things i have gotten done over the course of the month, even though i didn't get to all of it. i made a lot of progress. hmm, maybe i can tough it out tonight and cross one more thing off my list . . .

IN PROGRESS1) Pack away prepregnancy clothes and iron some of my maternity clothes.
2) Throw away broken shoe rack in spare room.
3) Donate collected items to local thrift store on Saturday.
4) Organize Control Journal (Household SOP)
5) Go through papers in drawer in kitchen and file those that are important.
Toss the rest.
6) Organize my card/correspondence drawer in the kitchen
IN PROGRESS7) Toss old coupons, clip and file those that are current.

Phew, it seems I have much to do still. I'll get all that I can done today and tomorrow, though. Unfortunately, #3 will have to wait until this Saturday.

if number 3 doesn't mean anything to you any more, than definitely get rid of it. or send to your parents just kidding . . . but really, if it's not work you're proud of, then why keep it?

if you do think it's great, then display it.

thanks doubledutch...yes it is definitely going!! but i don't want to throw out an entire box of art into the garbage if someone would like it. i just don't know how to go about finding the person who would like it! and so it sits. if i lived in the city i might just put it on the corner and write Free Art on it but this neighbourhood wouldn't go for it.

any ideas? or just take a deep breath and throw it out!? i used resins on the pieces so you can't just burn it as firewood

oh, in that case, maybe you could donate it to the goodwill or something? i was thinking more along the lines of piles and piles of sketches . . .

Well the second half of September was a bust for me, finally got to the doc and I have pneumonia So not only have I not decluttered, the house is a disaster.

other than my bedroom closets, one which houses my dd's things, the other which houses mine & house laundry i really got almost nothing done.. its frustrating but the last few days i have been so under the weather that i have been npping on the couch most of the day. i really need the break though.. hopefully october will be more inspired.

okay, so i'm leaving things for next month! (i only have 2 more days here anyway, so it has to be done one way or another!!) sounds like lots of folks got sick. october is yours!

I'm carrying goals over to next month, as well. At least I got a start this week. Thanks, too, for the inspiration and motivation!
