I'm a Duggar lover. Really, I love Michelle. I think she is so calm and wonderful. I aspire to be like that. But...

This show is starting to get on my nerves. It seems to have fallen into the same old reality show multiple children ditch of "look at us do things for free!" The product placement is uncomfortable to watch. Scrubbing Bubbles and Swiffer and the ones I remember off the top of my head. It seems like it used to be about "how do they do it?" which I know gets boring to some after awhile, but it's more entertaining for me.

I'm also not a fan of Josh Duggar. He seems shifty or something. I can't quite put my finger on it. I feel bad for Anna. She's going to have a strange life with him. I love Jana, Jessa, Joy and all the little, little kids though. I want to see Jana and John David get married. They have to be old enough. I wonder if they met anyone yet.

I get the feeling that Josh really likes the cameras ... or really takes the filming of the show seriously and is very over-emphatic about getting down to the business of it.

I watch many many shows on TLC and the product placement is always extremely awkward. It is so bad that I wonder why the sponsors continue doing them. It always seems like the families don't use the products, which may or may not be true, but obviously isn't what you want from a product placement. It would be better if they just said "this show brought to you by Swiffer" or whatever, since they play the mop commercials solid through the commercial breaks anyway.

I am not a big fan of Josh either. I mean, I am sure he is a nice enough guy, but I don't get a good vibe off of him. Now John-David on the other hand, I really like him. And he's pretty cute too. I wonder if he has interests in any of the Bates girls. I would love to see a Bates-Duggar wedding.

You know I was wondering that myself. It seems that these families are really good friends and spend a lot of time together and have very similar family values. I wouldnt be suprised if a relationship popped up between a dugar and bates.

May I join here? I love this show.

It seems to me that the producers of the show have almost downright implied that a Duggar-Bates wedding will happen. I'm specifically thinking of an episode (I think it was last season) where they go to a camping religious convention type thing. Michelle was saying that Josh met Anna there and it's a good place to meet a like minded person to marry. At the same time she was saying this, the camera showed the Duggars and Bates getting together. Then they showed John David and the oldest Bates girl (Erin?), the really pretty blond girl.

I would love that. So cute.

Can I also add that I am in awe of the Bates for having all of those kids in a 1,000 square foot house. That's what they said right? DH and I are looking for a house right now. I looked at some that are 1,000 square feet and it seemed small for the 3 of us.

IF their kids can tolerate the twangy country accents. I live in the country and I am quite used to it but seeing the Bates kids talk on t.v. is really quite cute.

I've felt this way lately as well. He acts a bit overbearing and arrogant on the show at times. I wondered if it was just me.

I've noticed the same thing. He's the only one of the Duggars that I think seem too...camera happy. Sometimes I wonder about Amy too though...

The Swiffer mop product placement was really awkward to me, and really obvious. It seems like it would be so much more effective if they just happened to show them using the product without saying anything. Kind of like how they zoomed in on their appliances in one of the earlier episodes.

I really hope the Duggars don't end up being like Jon and Kate were--where they start making the show about all the special free things they get to do. That's so boring, in my opinion. I would much rather have a glimpse into their daily life!

He LOVES the cameras. I mean calling producers to tell them your wife is PG before telling your wife is... a little odd. I was downright angry at him when he made Anna late for her doctor's appointment because he was doing work stuff.

One thing to remember is that he is pretty young. Lots of times people with over active egos mellow out in time KWIM?

Oh me too! I was so ticked at him for anna. I was sitting here watching that episode and I was like HELLO? Your wife. . . Dr. . .
That was just uncalled for. But then again I was raised to always be on time and if your not 5 minutes early your late..lol. So late people really grind my gears anyways.

I've admitted this before here, but I used to be a Duggar judger and now I really like/appreciate this family. They are a rare family, very sweet.

I seldom get to watch the show, but I've caught bits and pieces recently.

Do the little kids sleep with their older sibling "buddy"? On one episode they were waking up the tiny kids and they were each sleeping in big beds that I think belong to older girls. Jackson was in Jana's bed I think. And Johanna was in Jill's. As long as the older kids don't mind, I think that's pretty neat! I had a friend in college whose youngest brother was 12 years younger than her and he always slept in her bed with her when she was home. They both loved it and are still very close now that they are both adults.

And yay for Michele for bf'ing while reading to the public school students!

I agree that the Swiffer thing was really awkward.

I've also noticed the creepy vibe from Josh. But I think he's a good-hearted guy, just young and wanting to prove his manliness or something like that. I would be truly shocked if the fame and money mess up Jim-Bob and Michele, but it could undo Josh I think.

I don't actually watch the show but once in a blue moon (is that strange considering I'm a QF mom? )....I just forget, and we don't watch much TV anyway. But wrt Josh & his wife....it sort of saddens me that they have been forced (by their own choice, ultimately, but "forced" nonetheless) into the spotlight at this very vulnerable time. Even if they enjoy it, being newlyweds (not to even mention expecting a first child!!) is such a vulnerable time for a couple! I just wish for their sake's that they would go hide in a cave somewhere for a couple years and give themselves a fighting chance!

John David is easily my favorite Duggar. He seems so sweet and shy. And yes, I think he may be sweet on one of those Bates girls, though it's impossible to tell if that's just something the producers are creating for the audience or if it's real.

You know who I don't really like? One of the middle girls, I think it's Joy. Same reason Joshua kinda bugs, too camera-happy and a little bit pushy somehow. In general, though, one of the things I like about the show is that it's obvious none of the kids are ever required to talk to the camera. I'm always sad that John David is so rarely on-camera, but I'm glad that he and the other shy kids can kind of stay in the background.

Is Joy the one that has been hanging close to Michelle in some of the recent episodes? I'm thinking she is probably around 10ish years old. She doesn't smile a whole lot and doesn't seem real happy. When they went on the DC trip she seemed to hang with her mother a lot.

Hmmm...I hadn't noticed her hanging around her mom, but 10 years old sounds about right.
