Ergo Repairs??

I am so unbelievably bummed out I left my brand new Ergo carrier (only had it for 4 days) in DH's car over night and noticed this morning one of the shoulder adjustment straps appears to be singed by an ember. DH smokes, so I know it was him. There is no hole, just a streak in the fabric. It doesnt effect the function at all, but I do think over time and adjusting and readjusting, It could really fray. I am sure any warranty is void without it fixed.
Anybody know if Ergo can do repairs? I am annoyed I have to spend more $$, I got a really good deal on it - but I would rather it be safe for my babe.

Do you mean the padded shoulders or the webbing type straps that thread through the plastic hardware? The webbing style would be fairly easy to replace if need be but I'd probably just use it the way it is until it started to wear - you may find it doesn't really need to be done.

I'd contact Ergo.

I'd be really wary of using a carrier with a babe after it's been exposed to tobacco smoke. Make sure you wash it well and don't leave it where your husband can expose it to that stuff!

The sythetic material that threads through the plastic parts is streaked from the ember. I do not think it will effect the function.
Its not like it was being hot boxed in the car. The window was cracked and I am sure HD or one of his friends were smoking in the parking lot and an ember must have traveled onto the ergo laying on the passenger seat. It does not smell of tobacco.

I think I am still going to contact ergo and get their opinion. what a bummer, though...
