Just thought I'd start a thread to see what kind of pets everyone has. I'm a true animal lover so we have quite a menagerie! We have 3 dogs (11yo Boxer named Spooky, 6mos old Boxer named Hope, and 5mos old hound mix named Lily). We also have 2 kittens (Liam and the 2nd isn't named yet), 2 goldfish (named Last Time & No More..don't ask lol!), 1 guinea pig (Harry), and 1 horse (an older rescue Thoroughbred named Starbright).

We have 3 horses- Calhoun (gray mare), Zeke and Domingo (appaloosa geldings, both born and raised right here); a rescue paint pony named Taffy; four dogs- bloodhound (Nathan), basset (Big Mo), a rescue cocker (Oreo), and rat terrier (Tiny); two cats- Grey Kitty and Groucho; a multitude of gold fish in goldfish ponds outside (they are breeding this year so I am not sure how many there are at this point) ; two peacocks (one just wandered up one day so we got her a buddy), and numerous geese and ducks in the pond that come and go at will but always show up at feeding time.
And even though it is not a pet per se, we have an American bittern that has moved in. We enjoy sitting out on the back deck and watching him watch us late in the afternoons. He has gotten used to us and we can paddle our kayaks right under him and look at him. That's how I identified him. I feel sure that we are way more attached to him than he is to us, but we will be sad if he moves on.

We have one dog (mini dachshund, 10 mos) and 3 fish.
I would have more dogs if we had a house. But for now we are in an apartment so one little dog is plenty. Plus dh is not a dog person and is just now getting used to and bonding with our puppy.
Growing up we had 2 dogs, 3 cats, a rabbit, guinea pig and hamsters.

Well right now, we have two dogs (one golden retriever mix and one black lab mix), two cats, two gerbils, and a hamster. We've had a ton of animals in the past, mostly small. Mice, other gerbils and hamsters, fish, guinea pigs, a jird. I'm mainly a cat person, but I'm a sucker for cute animal faces.

Right now? Only five- two dogs, a gecko an aquatic frog and a hermit crab. In the past, we've had another dog, a cat, 5 more hermit crabs, 6 beta fish, a guinea pig, 2 gerbils, 9 hamsters and 5 mice. And two foster dogs. The foster dogs got new homes, of course, the guinea pig died of some guinea pig disease, the cat had to be rehomed (she's so much happier now)and our third dog we "put to sleep" because of illness (rest in peace, Shayna), but all the rest, we cared for from start to finish- they died of old age. Someday, I'd like to have more, especially more dogs, maybe another lizard, and if we ever come into money and have the room, I've always wanted a horse or pony.

I don't own anything or anyone. But my one darling dog enjoys sharing her life and space with me. She was born via a $2000 c-section on my former dog. She has been to the vet twice, once for a cherry eye and once because the person watching her when I was on vacation let her out and she got mauled by their neighbors lab and poodle! I joke that her breed is a money pit instead of a pit bull because she keeps costing so much in vet bills I can afford.

My cousin has a cat that she rescued from beside the road. He needed a ton of vet visits to get healthy so she named him Dollar, and he has continued to live up to his name. He is always getting into trouble and having to go to the vet. He must be worth about $5k by now.

Oldest dd is angling for a gecko or a hamster at some point in the near future, so we'll probably be expanding on our family.
