Do I have to peel apples with rust spots?

Is that what it's called? Big black patches on the skins? My MIL gave me a huge box of apples and they are all like this. Usually when I make applesauce/apple butter I cook them without peeling and then use a food mill to get the skins out after. Someone please tell me I can still do this I reaaalllly don't want to peel a half bushel of apples today!

I had them on the apples I used yesterday. I ended up peeling them because I wasn't sure what they were and I'm allergic to mold. They were sort of black speckles but in rounds. Like that?

I had some apples like that when I went picked apples from a friend's tree. I found that when I scrubbed with a vegetable brush/potato scrubber, the spots came off quite easily. I was kinda surprised, actually. It'll still be work, but not nearly as much as peeling them all.
