have you introduced a bottle of EBM? - Page 2

Tracymom! Were you able to solve this problem. My baby is screaming bloody murder as well. And I am back to work part time. Today I had to leave work early because the baby would just scream and not eat at all. I am looking for any advice from people that had this issue.

Nope! Still trying! Nearly every day DH tries to give DD a bottle and each time she screams and cries as if she were in some kind of terrible physical pain. It is just too much to take! He stops, clams her down, and tries again and the same insanity just starts back up. We have tried several bottles - Avent, Born Free, Adiri, Playtex, BreastFlow and Evenflow. We try each at least twice.

Sigh... we may try a cup soon if this doesn't change.

I tried pretty much all the same stuff, I can tell you that for us the best one was the one that I didnt see you try, the Gerber's Nuk for standard bottles with vent hole, it is flat and has a hole placed on top of the nipple vs. at the end:

I was able to put the hole against his tongue and he was eating. We will see how lucky my mom is today while I am gone.
We pretty much have the same issue, with screaming, sweating and it is heartbreaking.

I had/have supply issues and have had to suppliment . DD has been taking a bottle since she was 3 weeks. Strangely, she hates pacis. I think that "milk reward" is what is going on.

I -AM- proud to say that she prefers the breast over bottle, and EBM over formula . I need to get more serious about getting her off of the formula, but it is kind of hard when you are dealing with PPD -and- being told that you might never be able to make enough milk. I feel a lot better now, and think I might be able to tackle it. That's a conversation for the Breast-feeding forum though.

Anyway! We give her wide low flow nipples and she's had no problem taking them, or going back and forth from them to breast. In fact, the bottle seemed to help her be a better nurser.

We are having problems too!!! Oliver won't take a bottle or Paci!! I am going to school now 2 nights a week and my poor MIL has been helping with a very unhappy baby!

Well, we have finally had some success!

DD has finally started taking the bottle from DH! After 3 weeks of trying, she finally found a nipple that agrees with her and the screaming has stopped (and no more wasted EBM!!! yeah!). Oddly, the only nipple she likes is from the Evenflow Purely Comfy bottle - the least expensive bottle I have found - of course, after spending a fortune on "designer" bottles like Adiri.

Persistence pays!

That's the nipple we've been trying cuz it fits on our glass bottles. Yay for you!!!
