Ah! Help! Quick!

Damn! I was so used to baby (6.5 mos.) waking up once a night! Last week or so there's been teething and now I'm sleep-deprived out of my mind.

So stressed out today... we put him down and then i couldn't sleep so I h ad quite a few glasses of wine. Now I'm all sleepless and somewhat inebriated, 2.5 hours later, and the baby wakes up all kinds of hungry. No formula here, a bit of earths best baby food on the shelf.

Crap. What do I do?? Cant breast feed him can I?

It's fine. If you're alive enough to type all of that - you're fine to bf lol.

Seriously? i heard if you're "neurologically normal", and if not it's got some detrimental effects for the kid. I'm not 'neurologically normal', I'm slightly rocked STILL at 1 am. I just happen to be an impeccable typist

I gave him a lil nip, cause he was all WAH! and stuff, but I wasn't sure about any more than that.

If your BAL is .08, than the "proof" of your milk is .12. If you drank something that was .12 proof, how drunk would you get?

By now you're sober and it won't matter, but next time, I wouldn't worry about it. Just don't do it every night.

With alcohol, if you are able to safely hold the baby to breastfeed, the the breastmilk is safe for baby to have. The only exception to this would be a very very drunk Mama with a brand new baby - and even then it would probably be OK.

The bigger issues are being able to parent safely (having a sober partner helps with that!) and not co-sleeping when drunk.
