Best Time to Pump?

Thread Starter
Our DD is 5 weeks old today. . I need to start pumping as I will be returning to work and want to make sure that we practice so that the baby will take the bottle when its time. Also, I'd like to start building up some freezer stash.

I don't remember from when I did this with DS last time -- what time of day is the best to pump in between feeds so that I don't end up depleted for her next feed?

Thanks!

In the morning. That's when your supply is at its best!

I found that after her first feeding of the morning was best for me.

Sorry for the hijack but I have a related question. My DD is almost 5 weeks as well and I am in a similar situation and planning to go back to work fulltime the beginning of October. Should I be shooting for a certain amount to have stashed? I just started pumping once a day and it is rare for me to get more then 2 oz total. I'm a little worried because I'd like to introduce a once a day bottle to get her used to the bottle.
