Still breastfeeding? - Page 2

DD2 will be 3 in November and now nurses when she wakes up and before bed. If I had gotten pregnant sooner I would have been interested in tandem nursing. Now that she's almost 3, I'm ready to be done.

I'm currently tandem nursing my kiddos.

I nursed through my second pregnancy with no issues at all.

I have fearful visions of how exactly to have 3 nurslings though...2 i can handle. There is one for each of them

I am attempting CLW and feel like it is the best fit for our family. We shall see.

Both my kiddos nurse quite a lot. Somedays I feel like that is all I do.

Another one still breastfeeding here.

My ds will be 2 in a few weeks and still nurses often throughout the day and night. Not sure how I feel about tandem nursing, and definitely wanting to cut down the nursing while pg at least. Don't quite know how to go about that though. Oh the drama that will ensue!

My dd is almost 28 months and still nursing. She's my booby monster.
I don't know if she'll wean during the pregnancy. If not I'll give tandem nursing a go. I had planned on letting her wean when she was ready anyway.

I'm trying to prepare her now about the baby nursing. She said she would share with the baby.

wow- i'm so happy to see so many other nursing mamas here! my 25 m/o is nursing with no signs of slowing down any time soon... he's been a huge comfort nurser since the beginning so i'm fairly sure he'll continue even if my supply drops. we'll have to wait and see i suppose! if he's still nursing when baby #3 arrives i'll definitely give tandem nursing a go! there's a four year age gap between ds1 and ds2 so this would be a first for me. i am wondering though... the soreness is just beginning for me- how did those of you who nursed through pregnancy deal with this? i know a couple women who weren't planning to wean decided to do so because it was just too painful.

for the last week wren has not asked to nurse except upon waking. not a once. not even today when she saw her friend was nursing (usually she is very suggestible). she doesn't even want to nurse down anymore..she wants her papa to come in and rock her to sleep. :

:most: of the time I just think about something else. I try to have headphones with something to listen to when I know I need my mind elsewhere. I remind myself how much of a baby my little one is and how much I  nursing. I remember what an amazing bond my kiddos have, and that tandem nursing is one of the reasons they are so close now. I often remind myself "this too shall pass."

I am currently tandem-ing through pregnancy and if I can endure this round I imagine I'll be entering the vast unknown of tri-andem nursing. (!!!) My oldest is still 3 and I really don't see him being done anytime :soon: I really feel CLW is the best for our family and this time around I just keep reminding myself that I did this before.

I have to say that for me it's the middle of the night nursing that KILLS me.
I cry. Baby (okay so not really babies anymore) cries. Daddy takes babe to other room and calms another way. I :know: night weaning is an option, but it hasn't really worked for us, because every time we get close we get a new tooth or get a cold and I feel like they :need: the milk.

I would be okay with my son weaning during the pregnancy, but I'm not currently planning on pushing it. I'm a little scared of having 3 nurslings with only 2 breasts.

For those of you considering tandem nursing, It's pretty amazing. My daughter was an hour old when her brother came in and he climbed up and started nursing with her. He reached across and held her tiny little hand in his that wasn't much bigger and they laid there together holding hands. A perfect picture I will never forget. To this day they often cuddle while sleeping and hold hands.

There are days I feel like all I do is nurse. (like yesterday when we were in the ER twice, once with each kiddo, they were having trouble breathing because all 3 of us have bronchitis) But honestly, I couldn't see it any other way for us.

That's so sweet! I'm still nursing my 30mo DD, though it's just 3x/day, but she doesn't show any signs of wanting to stop, so I'll probably be tandem nursing in May.

I found nursing while pregnant to be excrutiating toward the end. But she was still so little and I didnt think it was fair to take that away from her. Instead, I used those painful moments as an opportunity for me to practice breathing and relaxation. I even used some of my hypnobirthing techniques. In the end it was worth it and tandem nursing worked out just fine.

I dont think my 19 mo son will wan anytime soon solooks like I might get to tandem again.

I just found out I'm pregnant with #2 and I'm still nursing my 11 month old DD. This pregnancy is a surprise and I haven't totally embraced it yet. Mostly because it is already affecting my nursing relationship with DD. My supply has tanked (never had supply issues before) and DD is not a comfort nurser. She's getting so frustrated and even woke up at 4am starving last night. She hasn't woken up in the middle of the night to nurse since she was 4 months old. I am not ready for her to wean and I know she's not ready to wean but I feel like we are headed that direction very soon. I only have a few bags of BM in the freezer and I just feel like crying. Does your supply ever make a comeback?

Question for all you nursing mamas.......

B still nurses several times a day, upon waking, and to go down at night, we've night weaned and it's worked out wonderfully for us. The thing is, he'll latch on and suck a few times then grunt push away whine for a minute and push on my breast.............is this what you mean by them noticing a drop in supply?

I do love nursing him and the snuggle time we get, but I can tell he wants his cup with milk in it.

My ds is 11 mos old and he is still getting the bulk of his calories through mommy milk. He does get frustrated with the change in taste of the milk (pushing and unlatching etc) but after a few times of latching him back on he gets what he needs. We still nurse at night too, that is where I think he gets most of his calories right now because during the day he has started walking and is way too interested in what his other siblings are doing. The nipple tenderness is a bit hard on me, but it's not unbearable.

I tandem nursed my 1st child through the 2nd prg and for almost a year following (she weaned at about age 3 when ds #2 was 1yr old) and ds #2 weaned during prg #3 when my milk supply dropped in the 2nd trimester. I hope to tandem nurse ds and the wee one for as long as ds needs it.

My DD is 28 months and still nursing through the night and several times a day. Most of me is hoping to tandem, but part of me thinks it wouldn't be horrible if DD weaned herself between now and May!

My 22 month old now pops back and forth every 5 seconds before getting irritated and hopping down to play, lol. She does want to nurse every 30 minutes as the trade off. Maybe a supply drop here as well.

My dd is losing interest too. She will do the same -- push off and cry. And wiggle to get down. We do still feed at night which she has not rejected. I'm assuming my milk just taste different now.

I am currently nursing my 22 month old and almost 4yr. old. I have tandem nursed many of my kiddos and looking forward to doing the same with this babe and my current nursers.

My 22 mo is getting frustrated with my supply already. He switches side to side saying "more milkies more milkies". I still have letdown but less I think.
