Breastfeeding in Parking lot--reported to police?

Ok, I guess I have had 50 million questions lately, but this happened this morning and I am still confused...

My morning routine goes something like this...usually...
wake up, wake kids up, get ready, get baby in car seat, take older kids to school, head from there to daycare,

generally somewhere along the way baby wakes up and is ready to eat (she usually wakes around 6 to eat and goes back to sleep) Usually this is when I am pretty close to a church, so I pull in to the parking lot there and nurse her rather than sitting alongside the road or listening to her cry for 20 minutes until I get to the day care. I always feed her just before I drop her off and then leave a bottle and feed her when I pick her up 4 hours later.

I have noticed this one truck drive through a few times when I was parked there, and just assumed he was 'checking' to be sure I wasn't a vandal or something, this has only been for the 3 weeks since school started of course, and he never stopped or said anything before. Today, he stopped right behind me and appeared to be looking at my license plate. I stopped feeding her and got out to speak to him, but he was apparently on the phone with the police, I only overheard him saying just sitting here in the parking lot, not sure what she's doing...etc. I attempted to speak to him, but he ignored me. I just got back in the car and finished feeding her, changed her and got her dressed and left like usual. I drug it out a while, hoping the police would show up, so I could explain to them what I was doing, but no one ever did.

I am not worried about getting in to trouble for NIP, and really I was in my vehicle, so where is the problem? Was I trespassing? It's a CHURCH parking lot for heaven's sake, and my mom goes to church there on top of that.

This routine really works for us, as it gives us our morning time just the 2 of us, and it's when she's ready to eat, and I don't like to sit along the road, and waiting to get to the daycare driveway is too long for her. WWYD???

If your mom goes to church there, she could certainly ask to make sure it is okay, but I can't imagine why they would be upset at you being parked there.

Was there a no trespassing sign?

That guy would have creeped me out. I'd try to find out through your mom if he works for the church and if not, I'd call the cops myself or find another place to be altogether.

Talk to the Pastor (or whomever) at the church. I would continue to do what you are doing with a big BUT:

I would want to make sure they know who the man is-a handyman or someone affiliated with the church. The only thing that would scare me is if the church was like, "Man in a truck checking on you? No, we don't have anyone who does that and it doesn't sound like anyone we have on staff."

My guess would be that is a church member that thinks you're trespassing.

It is a noted problem here lately with vagrants/non-members just "wandering into the church/on church property without any "official business"."

The church may have also had some problems with vandalism or robbery and they are just suspicious of anyone who "shouldn't be there". I would call the church and talk to the secretary or the pastor and just give them the heads-up. Then they could tell you if it were really a problem with it. I don't think they will but there may be a reason they're checking.

He may be seeing you there each morning & not realize you're only there for a few minutes because of timing so maybe he thinks you're spending the night there or something else unusual.

That said a church close to where I used to work had zero tolerance for anyone in their parking lot except for people going to the church services/events because of troubles they had in the past.
