Toddler refuses back carry

Thread Starter
So my DD has been worn since she was born and at 26 months still loves riding in slings. Problem is I am pregnant, tired, and she was 30#...Would love to take walks with her on my back, but she refuses. She wants to ride in front, and usually nurse at the same time. I can do it now, but it is really wearing on me. I have even tried the stroller (boo!), but she doesn't like that either. As fall approaches and my belly grows bigger, I really want to be able to hike. Oh, and she won't let DH wear her either. Help!

She old enough you should be able to talk to her. Tell her mommy tummy is hurting when she sits on it. Ask her if she want to ride on your back or walk. Giving her a choice of two options that work for you should help her feel like she's making the decision. Don't know if it will work or not, but it's worth a try! Good luck and let us know!

Can you nurse her in a hip carry and then switch her to your back when she is done or goes to sleep?

This is really going to sound horrible, but bribing works to get reluctant toddlers on your back. Don't ask me how I know.
