Its either my period or Im hemorrhaging

Im exclusively breastfeeding and my baby is 6 weeks old. I started spotting a little on Monday and now it seems like Im full-blown bleeding. Its just like a period! Im not soaking more than a pad an hour though. Is this even possible? I thought youre not supposed to get a period if you BF?

What the heck is going on? Does anyone else have their period yet? I feel freakish:

It is very normal to have a mini period around 6 weeks postpartum. I started bleeding again at that point and it was very heavy and more then a pad an hour. It subsided after 5 days or so and i haven't bled since.

Not in your DDC, but I just wanted to let you know that I got my period back at 6 weeks postpartum with my son and I was like clockwork after that. While some women enjoy the absence of periods during nursing, some women just don't. If you are younger and have always had regular cycles, then you are more likely to get your period back sooner.
