Getting sick from newly vaxed?

I don't know if this is how all of this works. My DS is 22mos old and his grandmother works at a school where 100% of the children are vaxed. I left him there for an hour last Friday while I went to a chiro appt. The children just started school a couple weeks prior so I know they are all freshly vaxed and there are just things floating around there. Plus, it seems every time children go back to school, they share and spread disease like crazy. (I worked as a teacher before having a child) So, is it possible that my son caught a virus or bug or something from the children due to vaccines while he was there for an hour??? He has a runny nose and cough and now I have a sore throat and drainage. I don't know what else it could be or where it could have come from since we pretty much stay home as I am 6 weeks from my guess date with my second baby. Also, is there anything I can give him to combat this since he is so young? I can't expect him to swallow vit. c like I am and I am supplementing us both with grapefruit seed extract...what are my options? Neither of us feel sick (or act in his case) but the symptoms bother me and I don't want to pass it on to others either! Well, thanks for your help...I just wanted some educated insight that it seems you just can't find anywhere else!

Most vaxes given to small children don't shed. Also, they aren't necessarily "freshly vaxed", more likely they are vaxed on schedule, which has more to do with their birth dates than their school entrance.

Most likely your child picked up a virus that was circulating and not vax preventable. Most vax preventable illnesses don't circulate all that widely. However, the H1N1 flu is circulating widely and as of yet a vax is not available. If your child had a fever over 101 to go along with those symptoms, that would be my guess, if no fever or low fever, it's most likely a cold. Children spread them like crazy, but it has little to do with their vax status. Kids just share their germs more widely when they're in a group setting.

Yeah...I thought it might have something to do with the back to school virus sharing! Even though he was only there one hour...I can't imagine him being there ever for longer than that! I am not worried about the swine flu! I feel it's more hype than it's worth. No fever and that wouldn't likely be my first though even if he had a fever. We've only had one household illness in 22 months so even though he is acting totally fine, his runny nose and cough combined with how my throat feels, I think we either have a serious case of fall allergies or a mild cold. I will just keep supplementing the best I can. Pick up some colloidal silver tomorrow and just let it ride itself out! Thanks tho for the response...it's always nice to have input otherwise!
