Biting Baby

Thread Starter
My 6mo DD has started biting this week - luckily, she doesn't have teeth yet, but it still really hurts! She's chomping down with all of her might and pulling on my nipple. I've told her no and stopped the session each time, but she doesn't seem overly impressed or inclined to stop. Any suggestions? I'm getting to the point where I'm tense when she's nursing, and that's no fun for anyone.

TIA!

when my daughter started this, I would simply pull the breast away as soon as she was no longer actively nursing. They can't bite when they have a good latch going, so as soon as her latch loosens, take the breast away.

A nursing necklace might be a good idea as well... to help keep her occupied.

I found my daughters biting was directly related to teething. I think the pressure might feel good.
