I'm not sure where to post this. I just saw this on tv and had to read more. I just had to share. What do you Mama's think? Would you use it??

I've seen a similar product before. I might get one, but it would be kind of a pain to clean and it would feel wasteful to just throw it away.

I use a similar product when camping. I do a lot of backcountry camping, so this is great. I just use a little water from my canteen, pour it through. I don't do any "deep cleaning" of it until I get home.

Women can actually pee standing up without it. But, your hands would have to be clean as you need to make sure the "path" is 100% clear ... as in there are no outer or inner lips in the way. If you know what I mean. It takes a bit of practice, but is doable.

I used a similar product the Lady J http://www.biorelief.com/store/Lady-...e-Adapter.html when I went tranhopping as a teenager. Tehre great for camping and hiking too.

umm you can't just squat and pee without getting it all over you? Can't say I've had splashing issues since I was a kid.

You can. In my case, sometimes, I want to pee without taking off my backpack. My thigh muscles just won't support me AND my backpack in the squatting position. Standing up makes it so much easier. Plus, if you're wearing pants, you don't have to pull them down very far.

I've always wanted to try a FUD but never had the chance. I've even heard of people making their own. That said, I can pee standing up without one in some situations (taught myself when I was a kid) but my bladder tends to get very shy about doing it in public. You know, like when someone has peed ALL over the toilet seat before you, and its the only one, it would be handy to just stand and go, but no, my bladder only performs this trick at home... So, it might take some repeated practice to get it down to were you could use one outdoors or in the presence of hiking buddies etc.

My 5 year old has mastered standing in front of the toilet and peeing. She can do it without using her hands too.

Nope. And I've practiced and practiced.

Totally possible to pee without it, but I recall a website years ago with tons of information about teaching standing up to pee. And I recall one DIY device was basically a medicine spoon . . . in the solid end, use a hot screwdriver to melt a hole.

I'm sure there are safer means of making that hole now in the age of Dremel.

Ah yes. The trans community has plenty of info on this:

I bought several similar devices a few years ago when I was traveling internationally a lot. I never got very good at it--it always leaked up top for me. I don't know why.

Squatting was much easier for me.
