A mother was kicked out of Jake's Ice Cream on route 101a in Amherst, NH for nursing her 2 week old baby! Help Spread the word, I am working on putting together a nurse-in! The mother was NOT apologized to the owner, actually quite the opposite. The owner said she was aware of New Hampshire's laws, but had to protect her customers. HA! The funny part is, it's an ICE-CREAM shop. MILK! AGH I am so angry!! I don't even know the woman (friend of a friend) but I am a breastfeeding tandem nursing mother and I am seriously offended!

Nothing like admitting you're breaking the law. I wonder how they would feel if I decided to speed down the road then say that I know the speed limit is 55 but I have to protect other speeders who don't want to get stuck behind someone going 55.

Hi there! Generally, to protect the privacy of the mother involved, we've encouraged mothers to tell their own stories and organize action when necessary. We've had several incidents here where people have taken action on another's behalf, and it's ended up disempowering the mother even more. Could you ask your friend to come to MDC and tell her story so we can help support her? I'm so sorry this happened to your friend and her baby.
