Getting Things Done - Daily Accountability Tribe?

We had a thread going awhile (any interest in a GTD support thread?), but I've gotten back on track with having a Daily List and I was wondering if anyone else wanted to have a daily thread where we posted our to do for the day and then checked it off as we go? I think having my list visible will hold me more accountable for following through with it.

No one has to use the GTD system. For instance I don't use his filing system. Just use whatever works for you.

1. Nap. I feel awful this morning. Oh Fibro, how I loathe thee. ---> I rested but I didn't sleep.
2. Daily Three
  • All daily paperwork must have a home! (school, mail, etc)
  • Journal some sort of daily event/happy thing/photo opp
  • Keep my desk clean! (hopefully #1 will help with that)
3. The Me Three:
  • Make & have brunch
  • Meditate in bright light (combats the beginnings of SAD)
  • Write
4. Continue blog pruning & clean-up
5. Figure out why the heck I still have not received Sammy's spring school pictures, even after calling 3-4 weeks ago.
6. Get Tim the info on the pool guy so he can get the pool closed for us
7. Flush out book outline ---> worked on factions, races & classes instead since they came in a flood of ideas

Daily 3 = The 3 things that if I get nothing else done, I need to do.
Me 3 = The 3 things each day I need to do for myself to feel well.
I may bump these up to 5 things when I get into a routine with the 3.

Dawningmama, I thought "Have kids" was the first thing on your to-do list! Thinking, "...that really belongs in TTC, not Mindful Home!" Sorry, I haven't been getting enough sleep lately and it makes me read and hear things funny.

I'm in for today:

Get all groceries put away in logical fashion (currently dumped on kitchen table)
Clean up all dishes
Make chocolate pudding for DH
Sweep kitchen and bathroom floors
Breastfeed DS onegazillion times

If I get all that done, I'll come back and add more...

:rotf Weaslymum! Nope, I'm done with that part of life!

Ok, midday update! The kids and I had a big long cleaning session----so intense that I had to take a shower afterwards (well, ok, mainly because I did cobweb management in the unfinished part of the basement and got the willies).

How's everyone else doing?

I'll jump in on this today. I'm just coming out of the first trimester fog, am trying to survive with only having my housekeeper come once a month (though after cleaning my bedroom, I'm rethinking ever paying her to clean again!), and am trying to prepare for a birthday party for DS3 tomorrow afternoon.

Today:
Clean (pick up, dust, vacuum/sweep/mop):
-master bathroom
-my bedroom
-front room
-kitchen/dining room
-den
Laundry- three loads, washed, dried, folded and PUT AWAY (one load down)
Have kids pick up their rooms and clean bathroom
Make, bake, decorate (?) chocolate birthday cake
Plan menu and shopping list for food at party
Make first birthday bib and hat for S

Red items are finished. I have a LONG way to go still!

So if we're not using the system this is just a place for daily chore accountability? (I just want to make sure I'm using this thread the right way)

I'm in! Think I'll do daily & general lists, if that's OK.

Daily:
Kitchen: all dishes done and counters wiped down
Laundry: check it (I'm constantly finding half-dried towels in the dryer!)
Put away one random thing
Read to each kid separately

General Weekly/Monthly To Do:
Change sheets
Balance checkbook
Write bills
Sweep/mop kitchen
Vacuum living room
Laundry put away

Dream/Long-Term To Do:
File desk
Organize son's toys/room
Organize/clean-off top of roll-top
Organize/cean-off top of shoe cubby
'09 ES taxes figured

There's more, but I think those are probably the priorities right now. Will probably put completed items in blue. Maybe dates completed on the dailies.

Thanks!
