is it possible my dates are off?

So according to my LMP and a 28 day cycle I am 5 weeks 3 days today. The estimated conception day was 8/11. This cant be. I got my pos opk tests on 8/18- 8/20. I did AI on 8/19 & 8/21. I got my bpf on 8/30 just 10 days after I did my first AI. I think I might be even earlier than 5 weeks.... what do you think?

I'd agree, you want to go with your O date and insemination dates for your EDD.

I know I Oed on CD 22, so I'm using that for my EDD.

I'd estimate your O date + insem dates as 8/20 for EDD reasons and say you're EDD would be 5/13/2010 and that you're 4w1d.

This way, you're not "postdates" and pressured to induce etc., when you ovulated later.

thanks for the info... thats close to my guess... id say 8/18 might have been my O date but there is no sure way of telling. Will my OB still go by the EDD based on LMP and a 28 day cycle? I guess my main concern is thinking that by the time I have my first appointment they assume Ill be close to 8 weeks but then tell me the baby is measuring small. I dont want them to scare me unnecessarily when all it was that I ovulated later than they thought.

this, exactly.

i would wager to guess that *most* women do not have a 28-day cycle every time and part of the reason why most babies are "late" is because we're calculating according to somewhat arbitrary LMP.

i usually o on day 18 or even a few days later, but this time i o'ed on day 15 and that is part of the reason why we have an oops on our hands, lol.

Honestly, I'd move your LMP date up so that it matches approx 14 days prior to your O date. I'm doing this. Since I know I Oed on CD 22, I'm moving my LMP up a week...so that it matches my ovulation based due date. Really, hardly anyone has a perfect 28 day cycle with ovulation on CD 14, which is how they base the LMP due dates.

I'd just tell your OB that your LMP was August 5/6th, then you don't run into this as a problem.

If you're going with an OB, chances are, you get to 41 weeks, you're talking about pressure to induce, when actually you're only 40 weeks based on ovulation date. SO, go with the ovulation based "LMP". Honestly.

I wish I knew this before hand. I already told them my LMP when I made my appointment... I guess I could say I told them the wrong date.... we will see.

yes, just told them you weren't looking at your calendar at the time and you realized later when you looked at it you remembered wrong. they are pretty used to this i think.

YES. Do this.

Also, are you having an early scan/u/s? It will be interesting to see what the baby measures and which date it correlates to.

I had an early scan at 6w3d with my DD and it matched PERFECTLY with my ovulation based due date, but would have measured 1 week behind if I went with LMP dates. We went with O based due dates and the scan due date. Plan to do the same this time.

thanks I think Ill do this.

But out of curiosity... If I explained my cycle with my dr and my pos OPK dates and my AI dates wouldnt she make the adjustment herself? I love my dr to death and she is pretty flexible when it comes to these type of things. With DS it was determined that I did O late but not by much... like 2 days or so so they went with the date he was measuring. Sure enough he came a day early.

For the record this cycle I think was about 35 days long for me. my first pos opk didnt happen till CD21.

Honestly, not sure about your Dr. If they're willing to go with the scan date, then sure, I've heard of things going not-in-favor of the mama with weird LMP dates, so maybe I'm just cautious!

That would make it 10DPO, that is within the range that people seem to get them, though I've never had one til 11 DPO .
