Made my very first fondant cake....ANOTHER CAKE POST #52

I've never been good at cake decorating. I have shaky hands and always got frustrated. I decided to try making a cake with fondant for my moms birthday. I think it turned out pretty darn good for my first try. I also don't have a fondant smoother, so I had to try to smooth it out as much as I could with my hands. I made the roses out of fondant last night.

That's lovely! I didn't even know there was a such thing as a fondant smoother. Was your mom impressed? I would be =D

I'm going to attempt a transformer cake for my oldest son's birthday in a month. Going to get started on the shapes right away, LOL. This cake was my "test" cake to see if I could actually do it.

I love it! The roses are awesome! And the colours are great! I really love how you did the twisty thing along the edge. What a great way to finish it off. May I steal the idea?

That's really lovely. I'm going to attempt to decorate a cake for DD's 3rd birthday in a few days...but I've got shaky hands too.

Wow I was not prepared to be blown away by the perfection of the design, and it's really truly stunning- beautiful.

I think you could definitely make money doing this!

Beautiful, but I wouldn't eat it (sorry but "dark" colored cake topping/frosting grosses me out.. ) I might take the roses off and eat the rest, though!
