How different does DC behave with you than DP?

My DS has an evil little plot to slowly drive me insane. DP and I both work but we work opposite shifts so Daddy is with him in the mornings/afternoon and I am with him from 3 on.

With Daddy, he rarely fusses or whines unless something is really wrong which is rare. He takes a long 2 1/2 hr. nap on Daddy's time, eats breakfast, plays, etc. Daddy gets the happy child:.

For me, it is a different story, arrgghh. He whines, fusses, throws himself on the floor, and is generaly disagreeable for a good portion of the time. I know some of it is because he is bored. I take him out when I get home and that does help some. Once we are out in the park, he's such a happy baby again! But back home, Mr. crabby pokes his head out

I just don't understand why he rarely ever behaves this way for his father? Do a lot of kids/babies/toddlers do this? Thinking about it a bit more, it seems he ALWAYS wants my undivided attention and would be content if I carried him constantly. I will put him in the mei tei but at 25 lbs, my hips and back cannot take it for too long. What to do? And why can daddy get away with doing stuff around the house, grrr?

I don't know but I sympathize. It's the same with us. DD has always been Dr. Jekyll with dh and Mr. Hyde with me.

Might also be partly a time of day issue. My bebe is only 8 months, but mornings are by far easier than afternoon/evening. She is always so happy in the mornings and naps well. But in the afternoon and evening she gets cranky and whiney.

We have a similar situation, except DH works days and I work nights, 5-12:30 a.m. I get the bulk of her active hours, so I have to do a lot of toddler entertaining and playing. DH does dinner and bedtime.

DD1 was put on this earth to test me, DH says. We butt heads a LOT, which is ridiculous because why am I arguing with a not-quite 3 year old? He says she's super easy now and DD2 is his trouble maker. Which I find hilarious because the baby is SUCH an easy baby compared to DD1!

Ok mamas, now I don't feel so crazy. My little man is just such a velcro babe. Mama is not allowed to do anything without hearing about it loudly! Oh how he HATES my laptop . He does not want me online and of course I just found this wonderful community, sigh.
