Is there a way to go without nursing bras? - Page 2

Make your own from your favorite bra! Thats my plan this time around because I'm already a 40 DDD and I'm not nursing or producing milk yet :P (I'm scared to see where they go!)

Make your own!

my new favorite is Blue Canoe "Jane"! but make sure you buy the "plus" - I bought the regular, and I can't even WEAR it, it's too tight. (yes, I'm dumb - but the site I bought it off of didn't make it clear that the "plus" is for nursing)

I loved my Bravado's for DD1 & DD2, but this time around, they bug me. But I do love my Bravado nursing tank still. I also have a Larrivo nursing tank, which I love more, though - but I got it secondhand, no clue where to buy one.

I am about a D cup, so braless isn't an option, and tanks just don't feel right, unless they have a shelf. Before I got pregnant this time (at 42 y.o.), I swore by underwires. Now, I'm a Blue Canoe gal!

I just wear my regular underwire bra. I hike it up to nurse. Might not want to do that in your first couple weeks postpartum, though. Wait til your supply regulates.

Love blue Canoe. The first nursing bra (really a basic sleep bra) I had was by them. Back to back babies stretched that thing out though

Wow. I guess I'm less modest than I thought. I just wear two layers - usually a tank under a tee, and lift up. If someone sees my belly, I don't care. You definitely can't see any boob that way. Plus you're not struggling to reach for any clasps or hooks.

ETA - I have pretty large breasts too, especially while lactating, so it's not like this only works for small-breasted women.

I had bought a nursing tank from target and the plastic strap adjustment thingy broke in like two weeks. Beware of cheap.

another vote for tanks

I my nursing tanks. I have 2 black & 2 white, 3 from Target, 1 from Wal-mart. Like the Target ones best. I can wear a regular tank if it has a shelf bra in it. I'm a DD and don't like having no support. Tanks are great for lifting top shirt to nurse and keeping the rest covered up or for wearing by themselves when wearing baby.
I bought 3 cheap nursing bras from Target & wally world and I don't really like those. I will wear them to bed sometimes though. (warning-the ones with mesh in them itch! )
One thing, if you sweat alot between your boobs, you may prefer a bra to keep 'em seperated. I liked the bra a little better in July & August when it was really hot.
I'd say try the cheaper alternatives first before spending alot on an expensive nursing bra
HTH.....

I just use regular stretchy non-underwire bras. (Some sports bras are actually good for this too, if they're not too tight.)
Or else I just wear a camisole/tank under my shirt, a regular one, I didn't feel any need to purchase ones specially for nursing.
