Tricks for getting rid of stains?

Hi,
I am new to cd and have found that already my diapers have stains. I was told to dry them in the sun to get rid of the stains which was working well until the rain came. What do you seasoned cd'ers use?

Sqeeeze lemon juice on the stains and let sit out in the sun. Also in the future for new cloth (real cloth) do a wash with vinager in the wash it will help make the fabrics stain resistant in the future.

Oxyclean works great, I use it occasionally when I can't sun. Otherwise, I'll just sun them when I can. It doesn't necessarily have to be immediate.

The rain does interrupt the sunning sometimes, but honestly I have found that after using and washing the diapers a few more times, the stains tend to wash out.

I wash in Tide. And I wetpail the poopy ones.

I'm another oxyclean user. It works great on organic type stains. For really tough stains you can soak in hot water with oxyclean for six hours... my understanding is that it's active and continues to work for that long.

I think that sunning probably works best at southern latitudes. I'm not so sure about Canada in the winter. I notice a big difference in the power of the sun between eastern Canada in the winter and SoCal in the summer. We've also lived in Seattle and winter there was very dark!

I agree with RGsMom too. Stains will often fade out after a couple of washes anyway.

I just keep using them stained until we have a sunny day and I can lay them out. The sun is MAGIC!
