Bum Genius?

I just picked up some cloth diapers the other day. We are waiting to start EC until we get home on Tuesday, but we're in my hometown for the weekend and they have an awesome store with cloth diapers and other fun stuff so I picked up some Bum Genius diapers. They have the waterproof outside, and then the pocket inside for inserts. (this is my first CD experience so bear with me as I don't know much about them lol). Anyways, I'm wondering if these are good ones to have, we will be doing EC like I said, but I have read through threads on here that say they don't do the waterproof stuff at home, but I chose to anyways just because it's what I'm more comfortable with. I figure we will eventually get the training pants so he can pull them down himself, but for now, would these be ok/good to use?

By the way, I feel so horrible I didn't do CD's from birth--they are SOOO SOFT! I had wanted to do them right away, but I'm a very clean hygeine-oriented person and it kinda scared me away from it. But omg, I want undies that feel that soft on my butt!

You can use these diapers with EC. It's best to use the kind you are comfortable with! There are lots of advantages to using a waterproof style, but if you're not up for that, you don't have to.

What you said about wanting something that soft yourself reminded me, the other day my little one didn't want to wear her training pants. That was ok, but they are super soft and so I told her I would wear them! They do make nice things for our babies' bottoms!

I used BG with my ECer until the velcro and elastic died. I really love their design but they aren't well made.
