Green Birthday Party

Thread Starter
We are having my daughters party at a park. We are going to make cupcakes (no forks or plates necessary) and some finger snacks.

I need ideas for drinks. I dont want to buy cups. Is there a way around it?

Also decorations....I want my daughter to know its a party for her. Any green ideas?

Can you pick up a bunch of cheap plastic cups and plates from IKEA or something, have the kids decorate them, and bring them home as part of their party favors?
Check Freecycle and Craigslist for party decorations.

you can get 100% recycled and biodegradable paper plates & cups, at least where i am. i am seeing them more and more in larger stores as well.

if you don't want to do that you could hollow out oranges (or other fruit), use the fruit for juice or something and use the "bowls" as cups?! i have seen this done as a candle holder filled with bees wax, i think it would be sweet.

as for decorations, how about fallen leaves and branches of trees that have berries strung up? here there are tons of mountain ash trees with beautiful red berries around here.. also paper lanterns or other handmade paper crafts would be really nice decorations. paper cranes and other origami is simple and lovely.

just a few thoughts!
