I've breastfed my kids after many a CT scan and MRI with contrast media. I know that the radiology dept is supposed to tell you that you're not supposed to breastfeed for x number of hours after getting contrast media as they've been telling me that for 7.5 years now, but they also aren't familiar with breastfeeding pharmacology. Did they happen to tell you the name of the contrast media? Off the top of my head, I can't think of any that's not okay as they give MRIs and CT scans to brand new babies! If they didn't tell you the name, I'd call and get the name and you can post it here to ask and one of us with Thomas Hale's Medications and Mother's Milk can look it up for you.
