Weird question, I know. I have an old manual grain mill that was passed down to me from DH's great-aunt. I REALLY want to use it (my plan is to rig it up to a stationary bike; I'm stealing that idea from a Path to Freedom video that I saw), but I'm a little skeeved, because she told me that they used to clean it with kerosene (she also told me that her husband used to drink kerosene!).
How scary is that, really, and what can I do to clean it up and make it suitable for food, if anything?

It would bother me less than some of the chemically dish soaps. I'd clean it well, but keep it.
