Little Lions fitteds

I'm due in Nov. I thought I had my stash figured out. I wanted yellow edge prefolds from GMD and some cheap fitteds from thebabymarketplace.com (3.99). But I got on little lions website yesterday and realized what great prices they have on prefolds especially seconds. Their shipping is so much better that getting their free shipping over $90 could let me combine those 2 orders and and get their fitted which are a little more $ plus nursing pads and a wet bag and still really save on shipping and overall cost!

What are your opinions of their fitteds? I am interested in 100% cotton. One of theirs stated that it is and it is the only one that has reviews on diaperpin. Their new style is a $1 cheaper (introductory sale) but it does not state 100% cotton

I myself was debating about ordering my main cloth diapering set up from which of these 2 stores just a few weeks ago. I live in southern AB, so TBM is fairly close to me and I've been happy with my orders from them in the past, but decided to go with LL because even factoring the exchange rate, and shipping charges (shipping to Canada remember), I still saved over 40% by going with LL. I purchased 2 dozen preemie, 2 dozen infant, 3 dozen regular IPFs seconds, as well as a few accessories and covers. I also purchased 1 LL cozy cub fitted to try in a pretty blue color. FYI, the tag says 100% cotton . I got all that for under $100! (plus shipping). BTW the PF seconds were so worth it! A few vary in size by maybe an inch or so, and a few had TINY dirt marks on them (which washed out in the first wash), but other than that, they look perfect to me.

HTHs some. Congrats on your new baby coming.

i have a few cozy cubs but we just got them, so they havent been prepped. they do fit her really well. my only complaint was that the fold over tabs were hard to fold over. still they seem good for the price. if they hold the pee ok, we'll probably get more for those days when dd is just not wanting to hold still long enough for me to get a pf on her. she's a light wetter so im thinking they should be fine. and yes, 100% cotton, and pretty trim.

Thanks so much! You both totally answered my question, but I have another!

In comparing the sizes/measurements of the prefolds with GMD I am still pretty confused. I had been planning on yellow edge infants at GMD. I want to use cloth from the beginning. My others were 10 and 11 lbs at birth. I am thinking the infant green as while as some of the blue 2nds that are 4x6x4 and go ahead and get some regulars on clearance, too. How does that sound? For covers I am starting straight with smalls. How will they fit layed into the cover? I am not wanting to deal with pins/snappis.
Thanks

I think the yellow and green edge infant prefolds will be fine for babies that size, orange edge would probably be too small even at the beginning!

For the covers it depends on which kind you'll be using. Smalls in Bummis for example are smaller than small in Thirsties. The prefolds will fit if you just tri-fold them and lay them in the cover, but the problem is poop containment. Especially with the runny newborn poop you should count on lots of it escaping onto the cover, so have lots of covers to avoid running out when they need to be washed. Also I'd probably go for covers with good gussets to make sure they can keep it all contained.

Orange edge are smaller than eaither the green or yellow edge. If you want to jsut fold and lay in a wrap and are going with sall covers I'd eaither do the GMD yellow edge or the regular infant greens but fold them on the sides.
Here are some pictures of these prefolds in covers.
http://www.greenmountaindiapers.com/prefolds.htm there are several examples of there ones in wraps the alternitive method towards the bottom shows what I mean by folded sideways.

Ugh, thank you for catching that, I think my brain was off when I wrote it. I meant that the baby would be too big for the orange edge.

What I was wondering, I reread my post and did not not make myself clear, sorry, was how the different dimensions of prefolds at LL would lay in a cover compared to GMD's pics.
Would the 4x6x4 that they had on clearance for $12/dozen be enough absorbtion for a newborn (10lber)?
