Pain in breast/nipple, don't think it is mastitis

Hoping for some wisdom here. I am nursing DD2 who is 22 months. I have had mastitis twice, never horrible, but the same each time...one area on the side of my breast that hurt, I could feel a lump and it was warm and tender, and so on. So My left breast was super full after DD2 favoring one side, so it was a little tender. I went to nurse her on that side last night and realized that my nipple and breast were crazy tender and sore. I felt around thinking plugged duct/mastitis, but realized that not only were there no lumps anywhere, but the general pain was kind of just pain radiating from pressure on my nipple. It is sore just under my nipple as well. I then realized that while not nearly as bad, my right nipple is a little tender, but the area under/around it is not sore like my left.

What could this be? I am on CD 21 so not due for AF for 9 more days.

It sounds like it could be thrush. Does your LO have a rash in the mouth or on the bum? Any white stuff in the mouth?

We have had thrush before and this doesn't seem like it. No rash on DD. DH and I have been TTC...any chance this could be super early pregnancy signs? I would be around 5-7 dpo now.
