Pumping mamas -- ounces question

I'm a bfing mom to a 22 mo old. I recently offered to pump for a fellow nursing mom while she undergoes surgery. Her baby is about 6-8 mos old. (I forget what she told me.) This will be her baby's first time w/ a bottle.

How many ounces does your baby take per feeding?
How many ounces in a day?

How much should I pump?

Check out Kellymom.com for "how much ebm to leave for baby" calculators. It depends more on baby's weight than age.

When DS was an infant, he drank about 5oz per bottle from the time he was 5mo until he stopped drinking ebm- as he grew and his appetite increased, he increased his intake of solids. But he was only away from me for a few hours at a time when I was at work, never any overnights. I don't know if he drank a whole lot of milk when nursing after work.

Good to know.

Thanks, Ruth! I didn't even think of Kellymom. :P
