Hello all,
I'm migrating here from the TTC forum. I tested positive this morning, and I must admit I was pretty surprised. We'd been TTC for the last three months or so, and this last cycle there was only one somewhat half-hearted attempt.
I happened to be ovulating during a "rustic" (too rustic) vacation during which the sleeping arrangements were not what we thought they would be. So there was just the one opportunity to get busy, and I just figured the sore boobs now were a particularly emphatic case of PMS. But I decided to test this morning, since AF was three days late...and here we are!
DD is May 14 (two days before my sister's birthday.)
I'm hoping this go around has a better outcome in terms of birth experience. DS was a 7.5 week-early preemie delivered by c-section because I had pre-clampsia. We'd been planning a waterbirth in a freestanding birth center, so it really was kind of a drag for all concerned. Still, we plowed ahead with kangaroo care and extended breastfeeding, and DS is now a bright, happy, and healthy almost-four-year-old.
I've mc'd before, so I won't be telling family and friends about this for at least a couple of months--very glad this thread exists so I can share with someone besides DH.
