I want to wear my baby!

My 7 week old appears to hate being in the ring sling I have and the moby wrap. I didnt feel like he was secure enough in the ring sling and could never figure out how to do a cradle hold without his chin touching his chest.
I think maybe it is because it is so hot lately? Or he wants to see the world, but does not have good neck control for outward facing upright positions.

He cries when in it all the time and seems perfectly content to be put on his blanket on the ground.

Help, I am so sad.

Have you tried a tummy to tummy carry? DS would have nothing to do with a cradle carry, even in arms, as a baby. He always wanted to be up and looking, so tummy to tummy carries worked well. There are some instructions here:

I found that my son settled in a carrier if I got out and WALKED - and I mean power walked. No puttering around the house doing laundry and dished for my little guy. Eventually, he got to a point where I could just put him in the carrier (a KK pouch and then a woven wrap) and just putter around the house, but at first, he needed a nice brisk walk to help settle him down.
He also never liked cradle carries but loved tummy to tummy which you can do in either of your carriers.
Good luck, mama!

Great suggestions so far! My babe was a LOT happier if I was walking fast. And tummy to tummy was the best. Also, make sure your babe has a clean and dry diaper, if you haven't been checking that. Mine would wiggle and squirm if she was wet, or about to pee, actually, when she was tiny. Some babies don't want to eliminate while being worn.

My daughter hated the cradle hold. I did tummy-to-tummy as well, and did kangaroo carry as early as I could get away with it. My nephew, 3 months old now, is the same way. I think there are babies that just don't like to be reclining like that. I don't know... I think it might freak me out a little bit too.

Is there a babywearing group near you? It seems like you need help in getting a good position/hold for your baby.

nak...

check out www.zolowear.com for great video instructions for using your RS. most babies don't like the cradle hold. i used my RS almost exclusively when LO was a teeny baby, and it was secure enough to hold both my older kids hands in a parking lot, etc. just have to get it on right
