What's everyone working on... AKA Where did everyone go?

Thread Starter
I had to force myself to stay away from this section of the board while our house was on the market and while we were moving. There just wasn't a way for me to keep knitting and keep the house in show condition. Well 6 months later we have sold, moved in with my parents, closed on our new house and moved in. So naturally as the dust settled from our crazy 1/2 year I have been itching to get back to knitting. I came back to the board to find it very quiet, so where is everyone?

I cast on "Valentine" for my daughter using light purple stash cotton. I am about 3 inches into it and dd is so anxious for it to be done. I had forgotten the joy it brings to make her something, she really seems to get that it is a special thing

So what's on the needles and what are you anxious to cast on?

I'm on a bit of a felting kick. I got a HUGE amount of wool from freecycle so I'm experimenting with all those thigs I didn't want to buy expensive wool for.

so far I have knit and felted a crown for DS, it's now waiting for me to find my needle felting stuff to add some finishing touches.

I've got a bowl waiting to go into the next wash to felt. If it turns out OK I'm planning to knit a few more as christmas gifts.

Right now I'm doing a 10 stitch blanket for DDs doll and using up some odds and ends.

I have a set of longies, 2 WHW diaper covers, along with a baby washcloth OTN right now.

I really love that 10-stitch blanket... I may have to make one of those with some stash yarn.

I've got 2 pairs ofsocks going and a pair of fingerless gloves...All December Holiday gifts

I have been knitting lots of little hats, thrummed mittens, and I am working on a hemlock ring afgan.

I recently finished my clapotis (haven't even worn it yet- I should do that!).

I guess I am just trying to get Christmas gifts out of the way now- rather than last minute knitting and sewing in December!

I had been working on longies and soakers for the boy on the way in December...but I have moved on to blankets.

I made a pinwheel and am on to OpArt. Who knew blankets could be quick and fun?!

You're doing the hemlock! Post pics when you're done! I had that error of a few stitches, let it sit for a week, and have decided the yarn will better serve http://moreknits.blogspot.com/2009/0...rt-unisex.html for dd.

Also Christmas knitting! Finishing mom's felted bag hopefully tonight. Have made a hat for my sis. Need to do dh's socks - my first. And I'm itching for another sweater for myself. And ds needs a sweater too. I just learned how to cable (it took about 30 seconds ) and I think a top down sweater w/ some cables would be perfect for him. Oh - and a good friend is pregnant, so I've been working on hats and a short sleeved cardi/vest for the babe. My grandma has started feeling cold all the time, so a shawl for her would be nice for Christmas.

So, I shouldn't even be here! I am feeling the holiday stress already and have a very short list of knitted items to make!

I don't usually hang out over here. But I saw this thread and thought I'd pop in.

I'm working right now on a scarf for myself, from my own handspun yarn which I'm ridiculously proud of. It's a plain ribbed scarf, to show off the yarn at its best. It's a chunky three-ply merino yarn.

Also socks for myself from a desert-shades colorway of Trekking XXL.

And I've promised to make DD2 a pair of Fixation socks next. Then comes hats and gloves for the kids' winter. Then Christmas knitting, if I can find the time. I want to make socks for my mom and for DH's cousin, and something for MIL.

Knitting a shawl for my sister for Christmas with Noro Silk Garden Sock and I'm LOVING how it's turning out.

Just finished knitting a baby sweater for our LO, now all I have to do is block and sew a couple of seams.

I'm going to the Stitches Midwest convention this Saturday with my mom, and I can't wait to pick out some yarns for more Christmas knitting!

BBL with pictures. I've got Ishbel on the needles, a hexagonal crochet blanket type thing on the crochet hook and some sumptuous BFL on the wheel. Could be worse

Fall always makes me want to knit more. I've got socks on the needles now - some for me and some Christmas gifts. I am such a slow knitter that I take it everywhere with me. Who I am with/seeing determines what I am knitting - lol.

I have a sweater I am hoping to finish for one of my kids for Christmas - we'll see if it gets done.

Just finished a cute hat for a friend's new baby.

That Valentine is gorgeous! I spent most of August finishing up projects that had been sitting around for the past year. Finished up some leg warmers, comfort shawl, and a skirt.

A few days ago I cast on another Spiral Skirt for my youngest dd so she can have a matching skirt to big sisters! She is really excited!
