Anyone else being treated for hypothyroid...?

I've been taking Armor natural thyroid for about a year since being diagnosed with a hypothyroid condition. It runs in my family, but symptoms occurred relatively early. It's possible it kicked in due to all the hormones I injected when acting as a potential surrogate for my sister about seven years ago. It's also likely I had it without realizing it while pregnant (and subsequently preeclamptic) with DS.

Anyway, now that I know I have it and am treating it, I feel confident that my doctor (an awesome holistic thyroid specialist) will develop the appropriate treatment plan for me during this pregnancy.

I was just wondering if anyone here has dealt before or is dealing with the same condition during pregnancy?

I have hypothyroid too. I've had it since I was 19 (eek! that's 12 yrs ago!) and it's been well-controlled on synthroid. I had no problems with it while I was pregnant with my DD. My MWs checked my level every trimester and it held steady the whole time. I'm hoping I have an easy time with it this time around, too.

Thanks for your response--it's great to hear about your successful pg with hypothyroid--very encouraging. I called my dr. yesterday to tell him and he said (after "congratulations!") that we'd raise my Armour a tiny bit and keep an eye on whether I should continue the very low dose of hydrocortisol that I'm also on. Hydrocortisol can raise the bp, which of course we'll have to watch out for, esp. considering my history with preeclampsia. In any event, I'm confident that we're handling it well--I just hope the potential hbac midwives I'll be interviewing will be equally confident!
