My water broke!

Hola Ladies,

My water broke at 5:30 am in a big way! I'm continuing to gush and lets just say its quite the gross feeling but no contractions yet. I'm having a homebirth....everyone has been alerted...I am SUPER PSYCHED...this is probably the most excited I've been the whole damn pregnancy!

I got the tub two days ago...thank GOD...and already did a test run, so I know it works!

I'm gonna have female support, but no partner...so I could use all the good labor and birth vibes you all can muster today. I'm drinking the red rasberry tea...and Im hoping labor starts sooner rather than later. OMG Im gonna have a baby soon! Gender unknown as well!

ROCK ON.....

YAY!!! I was just talking to my husband and one of my doulas about this...in both my other labors, my bag didn't break until I was pushing. I don't know what I would do if my water broke before labor!! How do you occupy yourself? How do you be patient????

Here's hoping it won't be a long process for you, and that your support people will be JUST what you need

Happy birthing!!

at like 7:45, no contractions...
technical question though....how am i supposed to go about the day, really...i have random gushing going on. i thought, i could get pads, but that wouldn't be enough.
what do you do?

Depends maybe?? Or do you have a cloth diaper insert? You could stuff one of those in your undies maybe. I don't know!!

Well since I am having a homebirth I had to have those giant maternity pads here for afterwards...but I quickly learned they soak through bigtime...

So I am using two cloth diaper inserts at a time and so far changing that once an hour.... trying to stay calm..still nothing except a bit crampy...

You can also use a baby diaper as well I would think!

PS I cannot get over how freaking excited I am...honestly I feel like Im on top of the world.

How exciting! I didn't have my water break with my first one until the midwife broke it when I was in labor so I've been thinking about what I'd do if it happened this time to start labor. I guess I had this vision of water breaking and then contrax immediately starting, but apparently that doesn't always happen. I guess I'd have to bake or clean or something to keep occupied! You must be going nuts! LOL.

Sending out calm energy to you!
