Crazy watermelon, apples, carrots cravings. Can it be candida feeding itself?

For the past 3 weeks I have been going through some crazy cravings (mostly water melon). I am talking about ugly amounts: like a half of a HUGE water melon a day or a full medium size one. I gained 5 pounds in the last 3 weeks since having this crazy cravings in addition to my normal diet. I also crave apples (from a neighbor's tree, I would get an apple or two every time I pass by...and I pass by MANY times a day).

Since I don't eat junk and am very low (to none) on bread and grains, I was wondering if this cravings have something to do with candida. Since it feeds on sugar, can it be that this what it is doing: feeding itself this way?

Well, I also eat bananas, but I can easily stop after eating one a day (something I have been unable to do when it comes to watermelons). Needless to say that after eating a whole medium size watermelon I feel like a balloon (awful feeling I must say) and have to pee every five minutes. I swear to myself to not buy it any more, but when I get to a store, I still buy it.

I've been craving baby carrots too lately (half of a pack to a whole pack a day).

The whole thing starts getting really annoying. What is wrong with me?

Thanks in advance for any input.
yulia.

I thought the same thing (something in watermelon helps nausea, so that probably explains the craving). Not for the OP though!

Nope, not in my case. We have marital problems and haven't had sex for a looong time. Plus my period was just on time.

My food philosophy is fruits and veggies are an unlimited option. I can't imagine it being bad to eat lots of fruits... other than having to pee so much!

You might be dehydrated, or your body may be craving certian nutrients that are being provided by the fruit.

I wouldn't stress about the weight gain, it's probably water weight!

I don't think it's water weight; it a LOT of sugar, therefore, lots of extra calories.

Watermelon is a significant diuretic - my MW actually recommends it to combat edema in pregnancy. Perhaps that has something to do with your craving?

Are you having any candida overgrowth symptoms?

Sorry, what's diuretic and edema?

Oops- sorry! A diuretic is something that makes you pee a lot - that encourages your body to shed excess fluid.

Edema is fluid-related swelling, often occurring first in the hands and feet. (So, have your rings been tight? Are your feet puffy?)
