fluff thread-- Halloween Costumes

Our little ones should already be here by the 31'st. Does anyone else already have a halloween costume picked out?

I'm planning on trying to find or make an ipod onsie for my LO, and then take him to his gpa's for trick or treat.

Ha! Well, DD is going to be "Princess Knight," so we may try to make DS a horse costume (or at least a mane).

Surprisingly, we do already have a costume! On a recent thrifting trip, my 3 year old spotted a little pumpkin bunting outfit and said, "This will fit the baby, Mama?" I couldn't resist the $1 price tag on that one, and that his big brother picked it out. My 3 year old on the other hand, no costume yet...I have to wait till the last minute, otherwise he'll switch it on me. "NO, I don't want to be a turtle anymore! I want to be a fish now!"

A couple of years ago my dd was a princess and the new baby wore a peapod costume, so they were the princess and the pea. It was really cute. No clue what we are going to do this year- but dressing the kids to go together is SO cute!

Since we'll be trick or treating with my toddler (who is going to be an elephant) we bought a newborn hat with bunny ears on it. I figure we'll be wearing her so only her head will be seen anyway.

I don't know about my big girls......

I got hand me downs, so Charlotte is going to be wearing this cute little hooded sleeper that is a ladybug costume (by Carters - super comfy!) She also has a little regular halloween outfit that she could wear if we're inside (which is more likely)....it's orange pants and a little onesie with a witch on it that says "Mommy's under my spell"

I picked up a black sleeper that is a black cat costume at BRU. My older dd wants to be Belle for school, and I may end up bringing the baby to the outside parade at her school, so I got an orange and white sleeper with a pumpkin on the bum and a cute little pumpkin hat. Then on Halloween, my dd now wants to be a cat like the baby. I am just going to make her ears and pin a tail on her with black clothing. Oh, and Target had a white and orange stripped shirt in big girl sizes too that will match the baby's sleeper, so my dd wanted that and I agreed. She is all about matching outfits for her and her sister.

my gang wants to all be rock stars, with pink and purple hair, one with a mohawk, temp tattoos, blow up guitars, etc. so I guess I'll get to work on a rock star onsie!!

last year we were from peter pan (Dh), Wendy (me) Tinker Bell, Micheal, and John!

year before - football player, cheerleader, football, coach, and ref

year before - thing 1 and thing 2

year before - pebbles and Bam Bam

I've been thinking about this for months...since before we found out that we're having a girl. And I still haven't decided

I want to coordinate the dog's costumes with Katie's. I'm thinking of making her an angel and the two of them little devils. But I am open to suggestions (they are two little yorkies if anyone wants to throw some ideas out there.)

I love this one, I think Yorkies are tooooo stinking cute as little devils. Of course, I think Yorkies are just too stinking cute no matter WHAT!

Oh, and this little one will probably be a jack o'lantern this year like Adara was last year...I wouldn't mind that, but Adara wants her baby sister to be a princess like her. Ryan hasn't decided what he'll be yet.

Ian and Connor are going to be Jingo Fett and Bobo Fett (did I spell that right?) and I think for the baby I'm going to make a ring sling out of Star Wars material and *maybe* find a Yoda hat (or make one) or something along those lines. So the baby won't really be "dressed up" but will still be in the "theme".

We always do themes for the whole family, it's really fun that way

My son (2.75) is terrified of Halloween. I am caught between wanting to buy something to take a cute picture and not wanting to throw money away.

I'm really contemplating making my 16-month old Baby Emo. How funny would that be? I'll spike his hair into a faux-hawk, black eyeliner and lipstick, and then....make him cry! LOL

(just kidding about the crying part!)

As for the new LO we picked up a baby penguin costume at Carters. Not my 1st choice for inventiveness but it's cute and the choices for newborns are extremely limited.

OMG - baby Emo - that's hysterical!!!! Do it do it do it and take pictures!!! LOL.

DD1 is going to be a mermaid and DD2 is going to be some type of crustacean or fish

I'm liking the EMO thing though lol.

I was discussing this with DH the other day and he said I was crazy for thinking of dressing up a tiny baby. At least now I know I'm not alone. I'd like to dress her like her big sister. Maybe dress both in cheerleader outfits or something. I don't know. I may just keep it simple. I'd like to do something even if it's just for pictures.

Right now is a good time to look for used costumes. There are going to be lots of consignment sales at churches in our area this month. I'll have to remember to look.

DS will be a monkey (from Old Navy), he was planning to be a pirate but when he saw the monkey costume he changed his mind. I also got a the skeleton sleeper from there for the baby. I might be cold here by then so I got the sleeper big so that I can fit it over a fleece suit.

DS will be close to 4 this halloween so he is VERY excited already!

my mom got the baby a "thing 1" onesie when she was in florida a few weeks ago. if it fits i think we will wear that.

i don't like when babies go trick or treating...at least not when they don't have older siblings, because babies do not eat candy so it seems selfish? i dunno. we will go out somewhere i'm sure.

DD (age 3.5) wants to be a mermaid so I'm going to make a starfish costume for the baby.
