Kindle vs. Sony e-reader

I'd like to get one or the other for DP for his birthday. He would appreciate that kind of thing, and expressed an interest in it earlier. Can someone tell me benefits of one over the other? Just any kind of information is really appreciated.

Thanks!

I have a Kindle and really like it. I don't know much about the Sony reader, so I can't compare the two. One thing about the Kindle is that you'll never pay more than $10 for a book, even new releases. I've probably gotten back the cost of the Kindle by not buying printed. I also like the lightness of the Kindle and the one finger page turn.

You'll probably have to look other places for comparisions, though.

There are alot of sites out there that compare the 2. The kindle I think is more popular b/c its advertised better with amazon and it has instant download. Personally, I went with the sony. I LOOOOVE it. My MIL (who lives next door) has the Kindle. I compared them and I still love my e-reader. I love that I store all my books on my computer. I think the Kindle you store them with amazon. I love that the e-reader is slimmer and smaller. I love that I got mine in Red. : I don't have the problem where I need a book instantly. I go through the store and find books I want and put them on. So I'm never without one. The e-reader fits in my purse and doesn't take up alot of room. I think those are the biggest 2 differences. I think its really just a personal choice. I do know between my MIL and me my battery lasts longer. We read about the same and she has to charge hers more.

Good luck shopping!!!
