I will be 31 in December (was born in 1978). I was 28 when DD was born and will be 31 when the new munchkin comes in March. I feel very young still!

I voted 38 - 41 since I am turning 38(!) in October... I had my first when I was 27 and this will be my 4th... it's crazy!!! I was born in 1971... my mom had me when she was 18, she is 56 now, grandmother to 5, ages 10 and under and a VERY YOUNG 56... a very involved grandmother, teaches them to sew and bake and takes them on vacations... I mention all this because when I am her age (56) I will have 18 year old ~ although given that my oldest will be 29 then, I may be a grandmother as well!!!

I love that there are so many "young moms" in this DDC! I'm 24, will be 25 in Nov. It's so rare to meet moms my age. I'm always nervous about telling people my age, since I get the gawk, and the "oh, you're so young to have 2 kids!" speech.

THIS!!!! I'm not typical for my age, I never have been "typical" : whatever that's supposed to mean. I don't get the speech anymore. I just get the big eyed gawk then I'm not talked to anymore. When I was getting married I was questioned all the time, that drove me nuts.

People were really "disappointed" in me for choosing to marry young (the same year I graduated from HS) and have always treated me weird about having children, even though I'm not "young" anymore IMO. But it's like they always saw me as "older" growing up, but once I got married and was completely independent I was seen as the opposite????
That had to be fustrating that it was the people that knew the real you! I was always more advanced than my peers too, people that actually tried to get to know me called me "the mom" because that's who I've always been. I got married 6 days after my 18th birthday, so many acquaintences told me it would fail, I was making a mistake, I was too young to know what love is, blah blah. Yep I have no idea.

I was thankful I haven't gotten much flack for being a young mom! Except from my discharge nursed after I had my first, people at church, and women at some mom groups. None of it was based on me, just assumptions about young mamas. You know what they say when you assume.

Haha, back to the thread though! I shouldn't rant. Yep 23 on 12-25, it'll be an interesting day as all my birthdays have been. Since were on the subject of age if you're willing to share your birthday please do!

I am 33 now and will be 34 shortly after my baby is born. This is my second baby. My first was born when I was 23. It has been 10 years since I was last pregnant...gah!

cocoanib You are just like me! I think we are probably due the same week too. When is your birthday? Mine is April 28th.

I'll be 36 in October. I always thought I'd be done having kids at 32, because I didn't want to be old and still having kids. But after many losses, and still wanting another, I just keep trying. I don't suppose we'll ever have the four we thought we'd have when we were young, but 3 will be great, too!

p.s. I always think it's interesting how women plan out their fertility, like they'll only have one and end up with 5 or they think the spacing will be X, then that doesn't happen and they're kids are closer or farther apart. Ironic. Course, maybe that's not true for everyone, just a lot of my friends.
