Well, I am so proud of you young moms to be so with it at your age. I have a few younger friends (I am 35) who are in their 20s and they nurse and co-sleep and all that. It makes me feel so great, and thrilled that we have good youth coming up these days! :

When I was 24, I am pretty sure I was a total basket case. Not that I have improved much.

Well although Im 20 and prego, I was 80% sure that I was not able to concieve because of my polycystic ovarian diesease, for the majority of our marriage we had unprotected sex and I still got a period on time, I used no birthcontrol or anything just herbs pretty much, well...this time I guess it didnt work lol BUT im super happy about this baby because since we got married we both thought that the only way I could have babys is if I got invitro. ((Before this baby I can totally relate to that "broken" feeling))

I'm so sorry it's been hard for you. I'm glad you're here now with us.

Yay for crunchy youth! But : who said I'm not a basket case? Besides what do you need for the AP crunchy baby? Boobs, and a place to sleep! Heck I have both AND they're things I'd have kids or no kids, I'm too cheap to be mainstream!

And I must add, I love that we have lots of wise women here. I love learning from people who have been around longer than I have and know a thing or two.

My daughter was born a little after our second wedding anniversary. We probably could have tried earlier, but we wanted to wait a little bit. As it was, dh was in his last year of school (and working full time and starting a business) for the first 6 months of her life. We rarely saw him.

True... We conceived DS1 very quickly. But DS2 took 3 years and many miscarriages.
I'm sorry you're encountering difficulty. It can be very trying.

I'm 24, will be 25 when the babe is born in march. married my high school sweetheart when we graduated undergrad. so excited to be preggers! i have envisioned our babies since we started dating when we were 17!

i too am excited by all the hip young mamas on this board. i literally am the ONLY person i know in my age group who is pregnant, and am the first of my friends/acquaintances. i mean, we are the only ones married as well, so it only makes sense we're doing this first too!

luckily nobody has tried to lecture me about homebirthing since im a nurse and a midwife student--i think they all know im a bit freaky! ;-)

I'll be 29 on January 23rd, 2010. LOL. I feel old looking at all these young ladies on there. Some of you (lots) are younger than my baby sister. But then, I was only 24 (well, turned 25 a week later) when I had my first... I was so not on MDC then, but totally shoulda been. I was clinging to "a baby story" and "what to expect" and yet determined to have a no-pain-med birth at that age. If only I had this amazing resource back then... Luckily I still managed the pain-med-free birth, but did have pitocin. Thankfully my midwives were gentle with it.

Man - you "young moms" are pretty hardcore with your matronly selves! One of our good friend's sister had her first at 19. Pretty crazy. "When I was your age" I was living in a loft in the city in between traveling the world's pubs & clubs... heh... boy I would have been Mom of the Year

Haha. When I got pregnant with DS1 at 20, I was living in a gross, tiny basement suite with my roomie, and definitely frequented pubs. You just have to adjust! When we got the two pink lines, DH and I (he was a fairly new DP at the time, as I mentioned in a PP) "officially" moved in together, and got a slightly nicer place, before buying the place we have now. I know lots of people that say they couldn't do what I do, and they couldn't have been as good a mom as I am at my age. But, you do what you have to do! You make it work, regardless of plans.

I'll be 29 on November 3.

I just turned 34 in July.

I was 24 when my first was born. DH and I were married when we were 21, but waited a couple of years to have children.

I'm LOL on the post about women planning their fertility. DH would have been happy with 1, knew I wouldn't go for it so we had 2. Now we're expecting our 5th. LOL Just never know.....

Guess I'm one of the oldies! I'm 37 and wil be 38 when this lo arrives...never thought I'd be having babies at this age, but that's what happens when you make plans, someone changes them on you!!:
