What's in your pockets?

Just about to start using pockets and was wondering what I should put in them. Have a system that works well for you? Please share!

(I have BG OS and a few Wahmies, ISO FBs and open to other ideas as well.)

How many inserts should I put in? What types of inserts do you use?

Thanks!

I sew fitted pockets myself and inside I usually put a folded flat diaper and maybe an extra soaker or microfiber cloth.

I have mostly Cottonbabies one-size MF inserts, a couple of Thirsties MF inserts, and a handful of other things I don't know the brand of. I do have a couple of hemp soakers I put in along with a MF insert for night.

I like MF because it's really absorbent, and it's hardy. Every couple of months, I use some bleach on them and get them really white and super clean, and that's been a good system for me.

We use the BG MF inserts in all of our pockets during the day, and double up with a Hemp Babies doubler at night. The MF absorbs well and quickly, the hemp absorbs well and slowly, and is super trim.

I used to stuff mine with flats, 2 at a time. Bulky, but lots of absorbency and easy to clean.

Stuffing

Small Prefolds
Regular Prefolds
Flat Diapers
Inserts (microfibre, cotton, hemp, terry, we've got a bit of everything)

What actually goes into the diaper depends on the age of the child and how long they will have the diaper on :

We use pockets mostly at night. A regular prefold with an insert folded up and positioned at the front where it counts will get 16 month old DS through the night.

The fattest nighttime pocket I've ever had to use was a regular prefold plus a small prefold. This is where FuzziBunz are great. The knickernappies are trimmer, but can't hold as much stuffing.

If I do end up using a pocket during the day I typically put two inserts in it. All of my knickernappies came with microfibre inserts, but I tend to reach for the hemp and cotton ones first.

I mostly prefer mf for stuffing. I have mostle Cottonbabies OS inserts. I like how they fit between the legs. Nice and squisjy so they don't cause to much bulk there.
But if the diaper came with it's own insert, that's what I use. I really like the insert that comes with blueberries and the loopydos I got with the KN OS. (both are mf and hemp). I love the Loopydos, but for the price I think plain mf inserts are great.

For night, I use a CB insert with a zorb insert. I'm planning on using a wonder-fulls type insert when they get here (they are mf but hourglass shaped to fit the whole pocket)

We use mostly micorfiber inserts, although we also have some hemp and cotton inserts that are used. We have used prefolds at night in a pinch but they made his diapers really bulky so we don't do that a lot.

For the diapers I use when DS is home with me, I stuff them with joey bunz or hemparoo prefolds. The joey's are trim and hold A LOT. My favorite by far
