I have a cold that has me a mess right now... I am in pain from it around my sinuses. would love to take a decongestant but I am freaked about it possibly drying my milk. any advice?

I wouldn't take a decongestant.... My son is almost 3 and I still won't take one cause I'd hate to think I did something to stop him from being able to nurse before he was ready.

When I had bad colds.... I drank lots of hot liquids, used a nasal spray, took an expectorant.... and rested. Tylenol, too, if I was achey or had headaches or sore throat.

Using a neti pot really helps me when my sinuses are hurting. Feel better!

That is pretty much what I have been doing - I am just hoping it will go away soon cause it is misery!

thank you so much! I am glad I am not the only one paranoid over the decogestants!

I took an advil cold and sinus only at nighttime so I could sleep and only when it was so bad I could not otherwise sleep. My DD was 9 months old at the time so my supply was already well established. I had no supply issues. I guess it comes down to how much you can take your sinuses being stuffed. I can handle a runny nose I cant handle being stuffed and for me a neti pot works for maybe 15 min and then i get stuffed right up again.
