I had to laugh at the face-sucking kiss between Ryan and Ashleigh in the opening number last night, I thought it was well placed and thought it was a riot that the choreographers were probably thinking, "finally, two people who don't have to ACT like they like each other and can really go at it!"
Wow, I'll have to go back and look for that face-sucking! Missed that!

I agree, I'm good with Nathan going home. I think his run was over. I'm actually surprised that America's teen girls allowed that to happen!

Sad to see Noelle go, esp. because she did such a terrific job that night and she gets sent home over it!

I also agree, no matter what I think it will hurt every week because everyone left is so good. The only one I won't be heartbroken over is Mollee- watching that video segment about her, I wondered why she needs to be on this show- if she's already in 3 movies and has a professional dancing/acting career??? It just seems like someone else who really needs a big break would better deserve the spot rather than someone who already has had success and exposure.

I had no idea Mollee already had all that. Her dancing really has gotten much, much better since she has been dancing with other partners. I still can't stand her personality though. She would be my first choice to go for the girls. However, I think Ashleigh should go tonight. She's done a great job, no doubt, but it seems like this should be the end of the road for her. The other girls are better overall. My favorites are Ellenore and Kathryn. I don't think either one of them will win though. My guess is that it will be a male dancer this year. Either Jakob or Russell. I think Jakob is an amazing dancer. He is obviously very talented. However, he is kind of boring. I'm sorry to say that but I don't feel excited about him coming out on stage and dancing. When I know Russell or Legacy are coming up, there's anticipation. When I watch Russell dance and his smile shines out from his face, I feel happy. I love watching him. I love how he can go from this rough looking, hard hitting crumper to a soft, elegant ballroom dancer. That is so cool! Even if he's not great technically in those styles, he's doing far more outside of his comfort zone than Jakob. Imagine Jakob doing hip hop. HA! I just don't think he's as versatile as Russell. For me, Russell's my favorite. Go Russell!!

Oh and I wanted to add that I think Ryan should be the one going home tonight. In my opinon he is a better overall dancer than Legacy (though I thoroughly enjoy Legacy's dancing). Still, I think it would be perfect if Ryan and Ashleigh were the ones to go. It would be great for the status of their marriage! Even Steven, no jealousy, no hard feelings.

Poor flipping Russell, another partner injured and him having to change at the last mionute and dance wiht someone he just met. Sigh. I would have loved to see Ashleigh do those dances, too - I feel bad for her. I like how they showed her in rehearsals for the final thing where they were showing the numbers to call. I thought it was nice what Ryan did, that seemed to be a genuine moment for him being upset for Ashleigh. If I had to pick between the two of them I'd pick her to stay, for sure. he's good, but she's grown SO much on this show.

IMO, Mollee and Ryan should go home. I like Ashleigh more than Mollee, both personality wise and skill set wise. I would love to see Ellenore, Jacob, and Russell duke it out as the last 3 standing. They are my favorites. Though I love Legacy, I think that he's not adapted as well as Russell did between genres, so picking between them I pick Russell.

I won't put in any spoilers for the West Coasters, but I do have a question:

I don't remember there being 6 people in the finale last season, I remember 4. What gives with so many people in the finale? I feel like we're getting ripped off of a week of dancing to get it down to 4. Anyone?
Despite what I said above, I was shocked! Shocked I tell you! by the results. Wow. I feel bad for her. I think she got short changed. She's got nothing to worry about though. I bet she'll have a long and fulfilling career. Apparently Americans are suckers for sad stories! LOL.

This is the first time they've ever done a "fall" season so I think it just worked out with the holidays to have 6 in the finale. I bet two will get cut quick next week, then two more halfway through, then the final two. They've had to do several things differently with the world series being on during the show, etc.

See, I'm totally OK with what happened, because up until last week's dances I just wasn't impressed with her dancing much; whereas Ashleigh progressed amazingly and in every genre, IMO. I was SHOCKED at the male result, though.

Next week will be VERY interesting. And I can't believe they're going back into auditions in January already! Having it twice a year is AWESOME.

I was half-pleased with who went home. I did think it was Mollee's turn, even though she did fab this week. She has enough prominent work, I think another more unknown dancer should get a shot.

I did think Ryan should have gone home before Legacy, just based on versatility in dancing. I totally like Ryan, and am looking forward to seeing him dance with Ashleigh, but Legacy has grown SO much and has done great in many genres far from what he's used to.

Yeah, I feel gipped with them having the finale next week with 6 dancers! I feel like the show JUST started and I'm just getting to know the contestants, and now it's over!

OK, so I just watched it because I had it on DVR....and I felt the same! I actually enjoy Ellenore's personality more, but between her and Mollee and how much Mollee has grown, Mollee totally should have stayed! I was also irritated that Legacy went home over Ryan. Grrrr. America IS a sucker for a sad story and man, that just wasn't fair. I am happy that Jakob stayed though....and Russell.....a guy will definitely win this year!

I thought the same thing last week but now I don't know. Kathryn totally won my heart last night. That number she did last night with Jakob was THE best performance of the season in my opinion. I was blown away. They didn't say who choreographed it but showed Travis Wall. Boy is he a force to be reckoned with. His dances have been great this year. I still miss Mia though. It's not the same without her. Anyway, I ended up voting for both Kathryn and Russell because I don't care which one of them wins at this point. I have to admit that I will be disappointed if it's Jakob. He just doesn't thrill me the way the other two do - as an individual that is. It will be fun to watch tonight.

Oh and I wonder if they pulled Adam Lambert from the finale. I heard them say Mary J Blige and someone else would be performing but not him. There were a lot of people offended by the announcement of him performing. I wonder if it was enough to pull him. :

my daughter has finally converted me and her brother to faithful watchers of this show! We're having a SYTYCD party tonight with the neighbors...cake and hot tamales candies (bleh!) anyway!
daughter keeps saying Jakob will win it, but I like Russell quite a bit. and I have to admit, I have some sour grapes over Legacy getting the boot...he was my and my son's favorite.

They did say who choreo'd it--Desmond and Dwight. I think they did the pas de deux before (though I'm not 100% sure). Travis did Ryan and Ashleigh's dance.

Adam is performing--They DID say that as well.

I agree that Kathryn stole the show last night. She was incredible in all of her dances. Though I still have a soft spot for Russell.

Great show last night, but I still feel shortchanged! A one-hour show with no video of them practicing or talking about the finale. It felt so rushed. Plus having the finale with 6. It just wasn't enough and the show and season are over too soon!

I would MUCH rather see a 2-hour finale dancing show than a 2 hr results show with performers I don't care about! Where I am, they showed a horribly corny, unwatchable Gordon Ramsey "special" for the second hour, ugh, why.

It's hard to say who should win- everyone did great. I think it probably should be Russell, Kathryn, or Jakob. They are all excellent. Oh, Ellenore, too! Ashleigh and Ryan are great but I don't think should win. I'm glad they got to dance together.

Jakob and Kathryn are just the PERFECT couple! They were fabulous last night! I haven't voted all season because this season hasn't thrilled me at all. I usually tear up at least twice per season and this one, not at all. But last night I voted a lot for Jakob. He's by far the best dancer, IMO. Kathryn is my fave girl but compared to Jeannine last season, she's not as good, so I don't think she should win it all. I'm so glad Adam is performing tonight! I love him!!!!

Exactly!

I still Kathryn. I would be thrilled if either Kathryn or Russel win. Although, going off of talent and technique alone, I kind of think Jakob deserves it.

I must say I agree. Honestly, I hope very much that next year they stick to just the summer season. The 2 a year thing is too rushed and having to compete with the holidays, baseball and all the other stuff is just too much. Besides it just doesn't feel as ... I don't know ... special, maybe? I love this show and don't want to see it become the overdone thing that AI now is. Sad to say I have only watched it in between commercials or in and out of the room for the last two weeks even though I agree the dancers are amazing - I just don't have the time/interest to get invested in it like I have in the summer when I know it's going to be a year before I get to see it again.

Ha! Would you believe I watched the show twice? The first time by dd was nursing to sleep but never fell asleep. The second time I fast forwarded through everything but the dancing. I guess I missed a few things!! I thought Ashleigh and Ryan's dance was great too. Travis really does a nice job. I was actually really glad that they weren't sent home. I enjoyed watching them dance together.

I can't wait to see who wins!
It comes on in a few minutes for me. My faves are Jakob and Russell. I have a feeling Russell will win.

I can't wait to see me some Adam Lambert!! I him.

Yes! You took the words out of my mouth.

When did Russell hurt his knee? Was it when he jumped off stage in the first dance? It sure looked like it was feeling better at the end!
