Zoloft

Would you take Zoloft while breastfeeding? I know it is suppose to be safe. My concern is actually that it will screw up DDs brain, that her brain chemistry will not form correctly or something because the zoloft will be doing it for her.

I have been on it before and stopped to be preganant but I really could use it.

Zoloft is touted to be safe for breastfeeding.

I have taken it while nursing

If you need the meds then take the meds.

If I felt depressed to the point I felt medication was in order, yes.

Zoloft has been very well studied and very little is transferred through breastmilk. It is considered the safest antidepressant for breastfeeding.

I have breastfed both my kids while on Zoloft, as well as took it during both pregnancies, knowing that to not be on it, or to feed formula, would be far riskier than to take the meds.

I would and did after both kids. From the studies it is the only anti d that either dosnt pass through bm or it comes through in microscopic amounts.
