going ot mexico with unvaxed kids...

and my mom is freaking out. should *I* be? i will have 2 kids when we go, a 2.5yo and a 4mo. the 2.5 is vaxed up to 6mo but the baby will be vax-free.

should i be getting them fully up to date just to go to mexico?? i remember looking it up a while ago and recall seeing that they themselves have a high rate of vaccination, plus no real "VPDs" running rampant there anyway.

just gimme some words to tell my mom to get her off my back! lol

TIA

Pretty much anything your kids can get in Mexico they can get here (in regards to the current childhood schedule). I wouldn't worry. I've spent a lot of time in Mexico and would have no trouble taking my unvaxed child there. I agree with the pp...what specifically is she afraid of? Because vax isn't 100% effective even if they are fully vaxed you would have to consider the fact that your kids could catch a vpd here, there or anywhere.

Whenever we go to Mexico, DH gets sick. He gets food poisoning. Is there a vax for that?

Seriously, the best thing you can do is watch what your kids eat (healthy foods, bottled water) and have a good time. A healthy immune system can handle most of what life throws at it!
