Hey, I just realized that I made it through this whole pregnancy

still nursing Connor!!! I nursed Ian through week 28 of Connor's pregnancy, then he semi-self-weaned with a little encouragement from me. He started nursing again when Connor was a few weeks old, and I tandemed for over a year.

But this time, I've made it the whole pregnancy! There were times when I easily could have walked away from it, and there are still times when I cut his nursings short or tell him no altogether, but he's nursed at least once a day every day this pregnancy Nursing is so important to him healthwise, I'll never take it away from him, and I had already lined up some friends who were willing to donate milk to me if Connor self-weaned during the pregnancy. But still, I'm very happy to have made it through!!!

He's going to be SO happy when my milk comes in again!!!! I can't wait to see the look in his eyes

Woohoo!! Now that's something to be proud of! I weaned DS in my first trimester, because I had a painful ovarian cyst, and it hurt to do almost anything. I think it was harder on me than him, though. He handled it all too well.

Good job, mama! I'm looking forward to having lots of milk to go around, too.

Congrats! Us too, and I know there were definitely times that I wanted to quit and still sometimes now I have to say to myself...only a few more weeks at most and then it won't feel like this anymore...and I also can't wait to see his little face when the milk comes back full force!

We're still nursing as well- I don't know that he's getting a *much* right now, but when it comes back in he's going to be a very happy boy.

Congrats!

We are still nursing, as well. I used to tell people when they asked how long I was planning on nursing ds that my plan was to get pregnant and then he'd wean on his own when pregnant (I was so sure he would). I don't know why I thought he would- he's also been such a booby boy! He is still going strong at 3 years, 1 month! I can't believe I will be nursing 2 kids in a short while!

I am really looking forward to not being pregnant and nursing ds as it has really started to hurt when I nurse him. I really hope that will end as soon as this baby comes out and my milk comes back.

i've made it through to the other side (i have delivered and am now tandeming.) i started a thread here to see if others who nursed through pg are now tandeming -- i would like to share/compare experiences. we're doing ok, but my breasts are sore. DD, 3, is goin' to town on them. DS, newborn, has a good latch and is peeing, pooing and growing, so i guess all is well.

That (bolded sentence) is what I am sure ds will do when the milk comes in and I can't say that I am really looking forward to it. But I have heard it gets better and that they do slow down after awhile. I'll definitely join you in your other thread once baby is here.

Good for you!! I nursed DD until she was 4.5 ... now at 5.5 she has a new interest in my breasts. "Why are your nipples darker mommy?" I have learned to just not take my bra off in front of her - she is way too into them, and I am ultra sensitive. She so wants to nurse really bad, and I am so not letting her. I just REALLY don't want to right now ... I told her that after the baby is born she can once in a while. She is waiting patiently. She's no fool - she knows what's going on ... there's liquid gold in them boobies I am excited and hoping my milk will get us all through flu season!
