Feedback Score? New Feature?

Is the Feedback Score a new feature? I just noticed it today but since I'm not usually the most observant person I realize that it could have been there for a long time.

Negative feedback? Hmmm...not sure how helpful that is?

I would really prefer not to have people leaving negative feedback on my profile honestly. Maybe I'm just being a baby about it but I still don't like it.

Why was this feature added? I would have much rather seen a "Kudos" or "Thanks" feature that is common on other forums where you can give appreciation for a member's post. Then, under the person's username, you would see "Given 16 thanks in 3 posts" or something to that effect.

Actually it is *not* a new feature.

It is itrader which is the rating system we use for the Trading Post.

During the last upgrade it stopped working but now it is updated and active once more so people can use it again.

We don't currently have a rating system for posts.

Oh good...

So have you guys ever thought of implementing a "kudos" or "thanks" feature. I'm not sure if the software can allow that but it's a common feature on other big boards.

I think a rating systems for posts would result in a lot of members (myself included) from posting differing opinions. I have seen the thumbs up and thumbs down symbols on other forums, and I never use them. Frankly, I can't stand them, and I think it would only serve to make someone feel pretty bad.

Unless, of course, I am misunderstanding what you mean...and that is entirely possible, lol.

Oh we weren't planning on using the "reputation" thing where people could give one another "bad" reputation.

There is a way to set it to only be positive.

As I said in my first post (and this was actually the whole point of me starting this thread in the first place), I am NOT a fan of negative feedback mechanisms. However, I do like the idea of giving a member "thanks" or "kudos" for a well-written post. Or even how they do it on facebook where you can "like" your friend's status or link.

I wonder if there's any opportunity to change the "Feedback Score" to "Buy/Sell/Trade Feedback Score" or something like that? It's not clear until you click into it and select "Buyer, Seller, Trader" from a dropdown that this is about transactions, not about posts.
It was confusing until I started to try to leave someone feedback for a nice post and then realized that this is not what this feature does

Thanks, I was wondering what that was all about. I was worried, as well, that it meant reviews of previous posts. I'm glad it's not.
