More movement/heart-rate issues... lots of NSTs

I'm 38.5 today. Normal OB visit today - thinking I'd been leaking fluid yesterday. Apparently it was a vag infection instead. Lovely. Oh well... I did pass my mucus plug tho, so that's something. 2cm, 75%.

And his heart rate was 120. So they put me on the NST machine. 20 minutes and "failed". Kept setting off the alarm because his HR would go down below 100. Recommended I go down to the hospital for monitoring and BPT. First read on the BPT was HR 111. The tech was bouncing all over the belly, trying to encourage movement. Asked me if there was anything I could do to help -- well, that's kinda why we're here... he's not responding (of course, he could be sleeping!!). But I tried moving his feet and butt, to get him to move around. He had a lot of head movement, which I couldn't feel because he's so low. But at least a good sign that he's moving. Final BPT HR read was 126.

(just to note, ultrasounds at 38weeks are super cool. He has HAIR!!! Oh my goodness! Got to see his little ears and lips. Definitely a highlight to an otherwise stressful morning)

Back on the monitors for another NST. Not a ton of jumps up or down... pretty much he has a baseline of 120. Wow... that seems low to me. But they let me go home. I'm still amazed at that - I was sure they were going to try to induce.

Another NST scheduled for Saturday. And I'm officially on "strict monitoring" at home. 2 hours without movement... Go In. Any changes at all... Go In. And I have to see my doc every other day from now on. Yuck. General consensus is, he doesn't like his home any more. Not getting enough "something"... so anything I can do to get things going... let's do it. At least I'm home... for now.

Oh how scary! It's times like this that I *am* thankful that we have OBs and hospitals. Most women and most pregnancies never need them, but when something is potentially concerning, they're there for a reason. I hope that your little guy is just fine in there and that maybe he's just gearing up for the big event, but I'm glad you're in capable hands in case something else might be wrong.

Rest up, you could have an eventful weekend ahead of you!!

pregnancy can be so scary and stressful and yet so wonderful and elating at the same time, hang in there, thinking positive thoughts for you!

Scary! I'm glad they didn't try to pressure you into an induction then and there, and I hope your little guy is okay.

Also, I had no idea hair showed up on ultrasound. That's awesome!
