Update

I saw my baby! And a heartbeat! Babys heart rate was a strong 169!! Baby measured 11 mm which us 7 weeks 1 day. My edd got moved to 5/16/10. The dr was able to see a little pocket of blood behind the placenta and between the uterine wall which is what probably contributed to my spotting. She told me not to be surprised if I spot again and if I do just take it easy but she says it should not cause any harm to baby. Thank you lord!

How exciting! I'm so glad you got to see your little bean. And mostly excited that everything is ok. Whew!

My 1st appt. is tomorrow and dh is going to come with me (mostly to watch the girls, but also in hopes of them doing some sort of u/s).

Anyone have the experience of asking for an ultrasound early and them doing it right then? or do they just say you have to wait?

Hopeful2009: with my dr it's standard practice. I suppose I could refuse but with my nerves I would want to see a heartbeat. I guess each dr is different.

Oh we definitely want one. With my first we couldn't hear the heartbeat so my dr. pulled out a little portable u/s machine and we got to see her bouncing around in there. We were pleasantly surprised. I had a midwife and out of hospital birth with my last two so no u/s's at all, except the ones we opted for independently an hour from our house. Geesh! So this time we're hoping the dr. will do it and save us the gas and money having to do it ourselves... or having to wait. lol

Thank goodness she was only the prenatal nurse and I don't have to see her again for anything. She even had all my info already, but needed to "confirm" it, um I just gave it to you guys in early 08, of course it's still accurate buddy. Aahhhhh, over. Thanks Coley! How are you mama?

Good Luck Mama! I had an ultra sound the same day i went to "officially" confirm! Couldnt see anything really but he was able to measure the sac. When i go in for my next appointment ill be getting ANOTHER scan-i should be about 9 weeks by my calculation. I wanna see my baby!

I'm back. After a brief scare where the ultrasound tech said I was 5 1/2 weeks, I may live through this after all.
I told her there was no way I was only 5 1/2 since I already had a + preg test when I wouldn't even have been preg according to her calculations. By then I was trying not to cry (Not sure I completely suceeded). I am 7 wks 2 days....damnit!
Everything looked great for 5 1/2 wks she kept saying.
So by the time the nurse came in I was starting to fall apart. She said they don't add the 2 wks on when they do the sono since most people don't know about that (Oh!! Please everyone knows that!) So I was measuring 7 1/2 wks.

Soooooo it turns out everything is perfect, this sono lady just doesn't know how to talk to people. (mamas especially) She walks with a limp too, I bet some other frightened mama kicked her in the knee.

They took enough blood to test me for every possible thing under the sun.

similar thing happened to me! Im still a bit confused. my lmp was 7/28. based on that my edd should have been 5/4 but I know for a fact I had a long cycle and my pos opks didnt show up until 8/17-8/19. So i figured my edd was closer to 5/11. when I had my u/s yesterday the baby was measuring 7 weeks 1 day. With that calculated my new edd is 5/16 and by my ovulation day I was 1 week 3 days pg... how is that possible? shouldnt I be technically 2 weeks pg by the time ovulation happens? I think my edd should be sooner and that I am a bit further than they say but no one will bother to really calculate.
